Stop your whinging and moaning about people whinging and moaning about people whinging and moaning.

Ooh, nested recursive whinging and moaning loops -- love it! 🙂

Have some pseudocode...

Stop your whinging and moaning about:

      People whinging and moaning about:

            People whinging and moaning about:

                    [insert subject of your choice]

            Endmoan:

Anyway.

I'm sure a lot of people who live on their Boats secretly dream of having a nice little freehold plot.

I do sometimes but always revert to the general rule which is land-conflict-agro-don't go there.

The great thing about living on a Boat, as long as it is mobile, is that one can avoid this basic human interaction problem.

A lot of people may erroneously think that religion causes the wars but it actually doesn't. It is land and the use thereof which causes all human conflicts. Big (intercontinental wars) and small (neighbour conflicts).

So yeah.

The mooring plot is lovely, it floods and in summer it is terrifically wonderful but it will cause conflict one way or another.

Its just how it is and part of the reason why I am going to sail around the worlds in a sloop.

Its quite amazing really how two people joined the forum and after a very short time are criticising it and telling folk they would be better on facebook etc.  I am sure the members who enjoy the camaderie and chat on here and the often helpful advice would breathe a big sigh of relief if these two took their own advice.

What do the two of you hope to achieve by staying here? you are certainly not contributing anything in the way of good advice or humour.

I put them on ignore as soon as I realised they were trolls. I think it makes them feel important.

You are confused. The batteries can't drive current through any dropped off solar INPUT terminals on the controller, and even if by some magic unknown to science they did the fuse that should be in the controller to battery cable would blow. That was not the fuse being discussed as I understood it.

When you made your 50% remark you were quoting the following...

Quote

My mate also wanted to replace the fuse holder for the output of the solar controller so I have a second Maxi fuse holder and 60A fuse ready. He has 3 x 180W panels so potentially 540W and so a max of ~50A input into the battery? I can change the fuse if advised.

He, You and I were talking about the solar output circuit. That is why within 10 seconds of reading your 50% remark I thought "ouch, that is dangerous".

I am fully aware a battery cannot drive a short-circuit in the cables feeding the solar controller.

Absolutely, life has been going downhill since the agricultural revolution. Fences, boundaries, title and people. Nothing but trouble.
