Hi, our gas locker is not in use yet as it needs ventilation drilled through the hull.

Can anyone advise what size of holes are adequate for ventilating a gas locker? Is it a set size or is it worked out based on area etc?

thank you.

IIRC the BSS specifies the size according to the size and quantity of bottles to be stored in the locker, and remember its a "Drain" (gas is heavier than air) and if you drill as close to the bottom plate of the locker as you can, you may also need to use a file or die grinder to widen the bottom to create a half moon shape and get the bottom of the drain hole flush (as far as possible) with the bottom of the locker.

Most seem to be a 20mm hole or there abouts at the lowest possible place.

I have never seen a BSS examiner measure the hole, if there is one they will pass it is my experience.
