CRT carrying out improvements to the towpath and banks.....................towpath has been closed, but yobbo's threw all the barricades into the canal, link gives details of improvements, Not sure when first boats scheduled to arrive...........but locals already complaining about upgrades causing problems for dog walkers.

Given it's the section in Wendover itself I think the first boat might be a while off. I walked this length a few years ago. It's lovely, well worth a visit, although frustratingly a little far from Wendover High Street where refreshment is available.

The map on their website shows this section as "shallow".

 

Last time I saw it it was less than a foot deep, less where there were miniature weirs, so it might be hovercraft, not boats, that are first to arrive.

 

Progress going in the right direction though.

Much, but not all,  the feed water from the Wendover Arm to the GU Tring Summit comes all the way from the Wendover end, so CRT need to mauntain at least a channel for that to flow down.

 

AFAIK once the A41 crossing has been reached the restoration from there to Wendover is much easier, consisting principally of dredging.
