Morso stove

Whilst getting stove ready , and cleaning around and behind it, I found this metal rounded plate. No idea how long it has been there or has it fallen off the fire ?

It is a baffle plate.  Makes the fire more efficient, but reduces the draw.  Not essential, may have been removed because the chimney does not draw well enough to keep the fire going with it fitted.  If you want to try fitting it there are diagrams on the harworth heating website.  Oilstoves.co.uk I think.

 

Not needed at all if your stove has a back boiler.

These are not installed in boat installations as the flue is so short.
