I need to know the capacitor value, which should be a black block with two terminals behind the front panel, marked uf.

That thing looks like it will make your neighbour's ears bleed. Those frame type generators have no place anywhere near boats, they belong on a building site where everyone's wearing ear defenders.

Correct but we don't use it near anyone else, were on a mooring and it only runs power tools for a hour a week in total.

A Liverpool boat moored up opposite us just as we were having our last cup of tea, we didnt finish it as his generator was so loud, (doing the washing I think)that we couldnt hear the countryside or each other without raising our voices.

Completely anti social and wrong.
