Fitting a weed hatch

Has anyone ever heard of a weed hatch been put into an old trad stern (without weed hatch)? Any experiences or recommendations for someone who could do it? Thanks

Someone did it do my old boat but unless you were Twizzle you couldn't reach it. Try learning to get weed and stuff off with a hook, saw blade,or strong boathook first. Weed hatches and bow-thrusters are the work of the devil on British canals.

I thought about asking Martin Kedian (seen his posts on FB) We’re down South - west London ish

Uxbridge Boats fitted one for us back in 1981.

P&S Marine at Watford are also quite handy and could do this.  Not sure if High line at Iver could do it but you would at least get chance to test it on the way back.?

Further north on the GU Michael Patterson in Circus Field, Aylesbury , Boat Shed at Leighton, Willowbridge in MK.

 

Any decent (mobile?)  fabricator can do the work, the hard part is getting the boat on dry land for a couple of days.
