Exhaust gasket

I need to replace the gasket between the pipe from the exhaust manifold and the flexible pipe to the silencer. Do I need a specific gasket or can I just use some kind of gasket goo? Lister SR2.

A very hot area on an engine, exhaust gasses are several hundred degees centigrade so it is essential to fit the correct gasket(s)

The right gasket is important in the exhaust near the engine.

  If you are having trouble finding a replacement, either use a piece of copper sheet cut to shape, or send a scan/photocopy of  the original to "Gaskets to Go".  They will make a replacement for very reasonable money. They are quick too. Usual disclaimer.

About 10 layers of aluminium foil will work.
