Mooring for Tesco at Harding Wood

Featured Posts

Just cruising back down the lovely Macclesfield after the Peak Forest to Bugsworth. Where is the best place to moor for Tesco Hardings Wood?

Many thanks.

You can moor a short way below lock 41 after the lock landing bollards / just round the corner. Reasonably deep, though I can’t remember if there was piling or if we needed to use pins. Even if you carry on to the “proper” visitor moorings at red bull, it’s not that far to walk back. Unless you have tons of shopping in which case my first answer stands!

As per the 2 boats in google satellite view!

Hardings Wood Bridge 133 on the T&M is easiest.  We once walked from the top of the aqueduct but it felt a long way back carrying stuff!

Crossed with Nick, but similar answers!

We're moored below 41 at the moment, as said before it's the nearest good mooring for Tesco (and fine overnight too). Just after the lock mooring is piling, as it is all the way to the next lock, or if you prefer it there are rings from just around the corner onwards. It's deep to the edge but mind the waterlilies on the first corner they grab your prop.

Moored just below lock 41 as suggested. Very convenient. Many thanks.
