  1. hi,we have two glen slim oil radiators 3'x2' fixed onto the sides,leave them on during winter months just above frost settings,used for last three years,very economical.john

  3. hi dibbo,same system as your's,changed from mains to 12v no problems,bought from mid-swindlers,cosy around £108.00,also put on a speed control switch from maplins,cost £5.50,it's worked well over the last two winters.hope this helps,john
  4. hi,just got our renewal,full fee 982.81,if i pay prompt before end of december this reduces to 884.53,ps they must receive this payment before the old licence runs out,you only get this discount if you pay in full.cheers john
  5. we moored at tattenhall marina in 2010 and found all the staff were very willing to help you,as far as the workshop is concerned,mark and lorraine who manage it,nothing is too much trouble,mark's standing as a mechanic/engineer,is second to none,hope this helps,john&sylvia

  7. no the turbulance was from the rivers,the landrover was used as a anchor point for the tilfor winch,an excellent bit of kit.
  8. tim has got the facts right,it wasn't my boat we were moored in front of rudd,we only just got under the bridge at 11 am,once they got the winch down,they winched it across the river,freed the stern,then winched it back across,to where it was originally,then roped it through the bridge and moored it overnight just past the waterpoint,by that time the level had dropped enough,then took it back to yarwoods to sought the rudder out.it was a very proffesional rescue.this was the first rescue attempt by the hotel boat,would never have worked because of the pressure on the hull by the flow.john ps,glad everything worked out well tim,as i said very impressed with rescue.john
  9. hi,just back home from latest trip,this happened sat 7th july,at townbridge northwich,the river dane was really flowing,and the weaver,they undid the stern rope and blocked the river for nearly 5 hrs,luckily no one was injured,just pride,john

  20. hi,i had to do the same last year,hired a scabbler from hire shop,(£40) for 3 days,and stripped the roof down to bare metal,70 foot boat,took me 3 hours,well worth the money,you will need anti-vibration gloves if you go that route.john

  22. thanks to tony and brian for your replys,i suspected the gassing,the fridge was on the boat when we bought her 2 years ago,we have decided to go down the route of mains fridge off the inverter.thank you once for your advice.john
