Wood effect vinyl is available for interior decor like furniture, doors and and a wall covering. I have an old travellers caravan that needs freshening up and will be employing a white wood vinyl on the walls and a beech or perhaps a maple effect on the cupboards. Quite an inexpensive and simple makeover.

Have you considered "gutting" a suitable laptop, putting the motherboard into a custom case with better cooling and running it as a desktop? Being a laptop, the differing power supply issues aren't there and you have no problems with the inherent fragility of a laptop on a boat. There is a poster on the ukhippy forum that did similar by putting his pc into an aluminium flight case - simple and rugged.
