  1. We had a local boat have to cut their holiday short this week due to a certain AA of the Waterways. Engine overheated and water spurting/steam coming out of header tank. First bloke turns up, says, fan belt loose ...I've tightened the alternator up , should be ok for rest of week now but your sliding bracket is looking a bit in need of replacement soon... Topped header tank up without bleeding anything else and sent them on their way through Braunston tunnel. Overheated again. You tell me how he tightened anything, as the bracket was non existent!!..dont carry spares as it was a Saturday.
  2. Someones sense of central isnt quite there...

  5. It's a bit like the Buckby flight which CRT occasionally call the Whilton flight if there is a stoppage or problem at the lower end....
  6. We went to the Nene, no boats move there except for weekends, other than the silent WillyWatt electric boat that twatted us on a blind corner.

  9. It's going to be fun tommorow....
  10. Ah, that's better, above is wot confused me...
  11. If you are going to be using the tidal Trent, go for the biggest, as especially at Spring tide times, and in times of flood strong flows, you may well need a bit of extra oomph, just to get you out of a tight corner. I'm not sure that the builder isnt trying to confuse you as your hp's and engine numbers seem to be a bit mixed up.
  12. Dean wore his heart on his sleeve, and unfortunately was (trying to be)moderating at a time when not only were some folks bent on conflict, so were a couple of moderators...which led to chaos on a regular basis. I enjoyed his input and his new ways of thinking on how best to sort his boats out for his family.
  13. The person you are advising was looking at this boat over 12 months ago....
  14. As are the the rest of her contractors....
  15. I think he was sectioned for a rocket attack on a red widebeam with his smiling 4year old waving at him as he did it!! 😁
  16. Funnily enough, I mentioned a boat mover(who shall remain anonymous unless he wants to out himself) a couple of days ago who's friend in front of him was doing just that, blasting full throttle until next to a moored boat, could hear him coming from a long way off. The boatmover has now joined the forum and started following me. 😉
  17. You cant compost tripe, douse with vinegar and enjoy perhaps...
  18. Sorry, I borrowed him for the afternoon...
  19. Mains hookup should be irrelevant in a 12v shower pump circuit. Although you say the fuse board is lit up, have you tried to reset the switch for the shower? Picture of said switch could be worth a thousand words...
  20. It wont get under any local bridges or through the tunnel so nowhere. Theres no tiller point and no wheel visible, with no hatch to the back end either, so probably no enjun

  22. Every other are part time hobby boaters. You have to cruise every day without stopping for lunch, do the Silver Propellor challenge 3 times a year and be an executive of the Provisional IWA to be a true CCer
  23. Which is why before we send them Prince Andrew in shackles, we should insist on having Anne Sacoolas sent over to answer her dangerous driving manslaughter charges.
