  1. It's not as bad as this one which was in red primer and exactly the same place last year...
  2. The day was challenging... our usual Bank Holiday wind is above Cosgrove lock, which has become challenging due to the widebeam service vessel moored there. Today, we found they have added another narrow work boat, and a white narrow, possibly plastic what looks like a rowing competition judges boat.!! On the offside, which is rough and tree stump littered anyway, there was now a herd of cows with an amorous bull..several cows IN the canal .... Managed the turn with 2cm to spare, no cows kneecapped, and the bull undisturbed. Couldnt get on the service mooring due to an unoccupied boat, so saved the rubbish for Stoke Bruerne bottom.
  3. It is rather quiet around nowadays, your Gayton stretch is full of widebeams now.
  4. Our dry dock simply cannot. The boats drop onto concrete sleepers, with a 6" gap to the base of the dock. That's how the dock was built in 1980, that's our limitation.
  5. Thankyou for that, very detailed and interesting, shame I will never do it on OF.

  7. I thought I'd seen it all when the hot tub boat started wandering round the Regents canal, for party hire. However, I have just been shown this..
  8. Ah, brilliant, finished work, did a few jobs, then cast off at 7pm. Came round the corner to find one of our favourite local moorings completely empty. 3/4 hour cruise, now its bliss.
  9. This one was going slow, the front end had two prongs of attack, the bow thruster, and the wife with a large pair of garden shears hacking at every tree and branch in their path...
  10. First thing that came up in google search..
  11. Yes, I've over coated the 30 years of Comastic with the Epidac 16, once in 2019, and another top up in 23, seems to be maintaining adhesion well and only fails when I hit too many locksides.

  13. Sell it on ebay, you will make a fortune.... Yes, of course it's ok, it was the best coating other than 2 pack, the powers to be that sit in offices decided it wasnt allowed any more.
  14. The Wine industry invented these, artificial corks, fit perfectly inside the hose then just tighten the jubilee clip
  15. We use HB as well. I now use Dacrylate Epidac 16 as my hull coating since Comastic was banned. Good results since 2019 first use.
  16. Rylards has pretty much priced itself out of the market now. We have chosen Dacrylate as our chosen medium, the spec is pretty much the same as International and Rylards, at a lower cost. Dacrylate say Rylards "cost price of raw materials" excuse does not warrant their pricing.
  17. Yes, I would use rope adhesive, before you use it, wire wheel down the rope grooves, you will be surprised how much delaminated rust comes out. (I also owatrol oiled the grooves and left for a day before gluing rope in.)
  18. There is no OP. A bot joined, and posted the question within 3 minutes, left, and has never returned.
  19. Shipping container
  20. Off the top of my head, about 2.5m
  21. When you do put the new bolts back in, put a spot of copper slip on them.
  22. Theres a boat goes up and down the GU taking old squirrels and refurbishing them for sale at a decent price. Possibly that's them above... I did my own last year, new top and back also.
