  1. Thanks for that. I did try another coat on a small area about two weeks after and left it. it just didn’t want to dry and dried eventually all sparkly/crackly
  2. No idea. Paint job is about 10 years old so maybe Boat was washed down well before the devil fluid went on.
  3. Thanks for your suggestions. when you put the product on it looks amazing but, it’s when you wipe it off (which you have to do) it went horribly wrong.
  4. Thanks Roland, did you use the same product?
  5. Thanks for the input, I did try it again, made it worse. I wouldn’t use it again on a kids bike !!!!
  6. We did straight away but no satisfactory answer from them. ITS A DEVILS PRODUCT and you could be right. Stuffed.
  7. I tried on a small cover on the back deck and no improvement at all, sort of went all crackly/sparky finish
  8. Hi all please see pics below. A couple of years ago we tried POLYTROL paint reviver, used as instructions and went on great and looked great until. ….. you have too wipe it off with a lint free cloth and this is what we are left with. We have tried Mer, Polish and buffing but nothing seems to work. any ideas, apart from a repaint. TIA
  9. Hi all any thoughts on a webasto pump working intermittently. No tick tick on start up but if I tap the pump gently it will start and run for ever but once it’s stopped it won’t start on its own almost like it’s sticking inside, don’t think these are repairable though. any thoughts appreciated. It’s a webasto thermo pro 90 thanks all
  10. Hi All. I had my 57 foot narrowboat blacked in May this year and within 2 months have sections of it coming off below the waterline. Reputable company done my work for a long while and are quite prepared to redo it as necessary but are saying that there are no single pack paints that they can guarantee to stay on now? I know that they banned certain types of Comastic? type blacking but what is everyone else using with success. Had the boat in the water for around 10 years and not had this before I don't really want to go down the route of two pack although they will discount it for the amount I paid for the single pack. Any info would be appreciated.
  11. Yes fabsil is what I have already bought
  12. Maybe? it was more the proofing being a chemical I was more concerned about.
  13. Hi all had my Cratch cover at home for a while now to clean & get rid of the Green gunge on it. now it’s clean should I proof it off the boat or not until it’s on the boat and fitted. just worried about it shrinking and not able to refit it? thanks all
  14. We have a Vetus Macerator Toilet on our boat all been good for 7 years now. There is a charcoal filter on the air inlet breather pipe, should be changed regularly.
  15. Thanks for the reply. I had looked at the Kabola but a bit out my price range thanks again.
  16. Thread Hijack Hi there NMEA. Can you tell me what the Thermo EVO is like in terms of reliability now it has been out a while? I have fitted two Webasto Thermotop C 5.2kw (the marine ones) in two boats over the last five years and have been highly delighted with the reliability and use. I now have a small 2 bed holiday chalet, (no gas) and I am considering putting a Webasto in here. 6 Radiators and hotwater but do I go for the newer Thermo EVO or stick with the Thermotop C ? I would appreciate your views on this. Thanks. Nick
  17. just a few more pictures of our build in progress.
  18. Last year coming up the Trent just approaching Cromwell lock we saw a large seal in the water straight in front of us. It dived under and then appeared right behind the boat. Great sight to see.
  19. The idea was to use just such a fuse block as this but it looks like it will have to be fixed to the outside of the battery box. The battery box is well ventilated and is mounted on the swim right next to a large vent grill to outside.
  20. Hi all As the tile any problem putting in line fuses or a small 12v fuse box into the side of the battery box. These would be for bilge pump, webasto and Smartgauge which all need connecting direct to battery but need to be fused Just trying to keep things tidy Cheers
  21. We have had four new shells from Tyler Wilson to date for fitting out. All shells ordered with just a small deposit and the balance paid on the day of collection. Both Tim and Jonathon are great guys to talk to and will let you look at the build at any time. Nick
