    I don’t particularly like Crook now after our attempted break in. But it’s the only time I have heard of such an incident.

    Doom Bar- Yuk! Ruddles- just about. 6x - (in my opinion) is good ale. Opinions and taste buds do differ of course. The local where we are at present always has a selection of guest beers. Out of four of us having a little session one afternoon we all were supping different ales.

    My own boat becomes a Popup Pub most evenings. The advantage of course is that I don’t have to get off the boat unless it’s my turn to ‘exercise’ the dogs.

    In my extensive experience as a sea going sailor, not!, the two ex assault ships of the RN, Fearless and Intrepid, were flat bottomed and their behaviour at sea was somewhat different to the more traditionally built warships. I never served on either of them so it’s only hearsay. In addition replica Dutch barges and fat boats don’t have stabilisers.

    I was once recommended Filter Mania. Found the filter I needed straight away. Not sure about obscure filters but worth a try.

    My brother in Law got the tides completely wrong in/on the Bristol Channel, had to be embarrassingly rescued. He was in a very small sailing boat. I write boat as I can’t spell Yacht. Has this gone off topic.

    That’s all well and good. Perhaps if he played by the rules, agreements and whatever the rest of us do, then maybe ‘George’ may not be in the situation he finds himself in.
