  1. I'm not sharing were I like to stay, you can if comfertable, I've walked past those same stop planks many times. Question is, perhaps you could tell me who exactly you asked and told you that those were the only stop planks, and why did you even need to ask? They're I'm storage mate! Brand new aluminum ones, this whole thread is pointless Because if you didn't ask or have any proof, you have literally just made a massive story in your head due to lack of common sense.
  2. No certainly not, who ever you asked about the new ally stop planks you didnt ask the right person (that's if you did even ask) Or in reality you provably just saw those old ones left outside and just wrongly assumed they were the ones that were in use.
  3. I actually moored at this marina before, what you are taking a picture of is the old disused stop planks... the new ones safe and sound inside. You have literally just made up a completely incorrect scenario and are almost incriminating the marina for having old stop planks when they actually have brand new stop planks........ didn't think of that?
  4. I didnt personally talk to you or have a problem with you, you made up an argument based on something I didn't say because your sad and lonely, I havent been a pillock lol No, i just said the canals is one of the few ways left to sustainably live off grid (in a boat) some people have taking the word "sustainable" very literally and out of context thus getting confused or just using it to try and troll unsuccessfully.
  5. Luckily I don't, thanks though stranger. Why have I annoyed you? I haven't even spoke to you, you just thought I said something I didn't and won't leave me alone, weirdo.
  6. What is going on you are either really dim or a sad lonely troll you are derailing a thread with complete nonsense in this context: Me: Canals is one of the few ways left to be able to sustainably live off grid and off government owned land. You: In what way is living on a canal boat "sustainable'"? seems like your the one whos "smoking something" mate I never even said living on a canal boat is "sustainable", I mentioned the word in a completely different context unrelated to living on a canal boat. it's OK your wrong, have a good night or keep trolling and being sad.
  7. Your missing the part where I said living on a canal boat is sustainable, because I didn't. I said "The canals is one of the few ways left to be able to sustainably live off grid and off government owned land." Are you stupid?
  8. So where does it say I said; "is living on a canal boat "sustainable'"? "
  9. I didnt say that mate learn to read before being a pillock for no reason.
  10. Its Scaremongering propaganda just to get people talking about it because other people don't want us to be free in our own country and the canals is one of the few ways left to be able to sustainably live off grid and off government owned land. Don't listen to it, Don't mention it, Don't believe in it. Dont support it, and it will never come true. I dont know why people choose their own destiny like this, tricked by media to talk negatively together about something thats not actually going to happen yet if at all, they don't want to happen, then it happens... Leave it. Resist temptation to be weak and don't discuss clear propaganda and it won't work, just dont be dumb people, did you not learn anything from brexit?
  11. Does the prop turn freely in neutral when the engine is off? You should be able to turn by hand. My outboard had a seized propeller and done this exact same thing, i had to gove.it a bash with a runner mallet.
  12. - Are you making sure the cap of the fuel tank has its air vent open? Its like the lid on top of the lid that you open to let air get in the tank as the fuel drains, if you dont then the engine will cut out as the fuel can't leave the tank as the lid is sealed shut completely. - Other thing is the fuel line and or filter from the tank to the motor can get clogged and need to replace. It really sound like one of those if you haven't yet checked.
  13. As a liveboard costs allot of money, multiple or many thousands even a cheap one, for someone who wants to legitimately have the benefits of living on a boat in the canal with no money they might be able to this way, not that I would want loads of bottle boats just wondering, hopefully I havent highlighted a loop hole 😂
  14. Only thing is, there's people on YouTube who Have made islands (big boats) out of them and been ok for years, I did think the same but I suppose they last for a long time, Maybe wayer butts would be more durable. For what the cost of a normal boat is, you could make a home on the water very cheap
  15. So we can actually make a boat with plastic bottles as the hull, obviously don't want lots of messy homeless people doing this but sounds like you can do it
  16. I saw those small islands peolle make using rubbish- empty plastic bottles. Would the bss allow this on the canal? I dont see why not 😂
  17. You clearly aren't pessimistic don't worry that wasn't aimed at you, some people always are.
  18. The community who are naturally pessimistic are the ones who can discourage this behaviour by not procrastinating or spreading awareness of it IMO after watching how we work as humans for my lifetime. Everything really revolves around belief, nothing exists that we didn't belive in first, and the only way to belive something you don't yet know is to get told about it by someone. We should acknowledge the negative so we know how to think positive, but we shouldn't make the negative a thing by wasting breath on it and spreading it.
  19. I agree that once it's already out of hand it's too late and authority needs to step in, but it needn't get to that stage and if it did its definitely people gossiping or talking about it that doesn't help Your always going to get imperfections with people, a boater who don't move with crap on the bank is aking to a small graze on your arm, keep picking at it and it will grow into more. Accept it and it will heal and go away, but there will always be more new small nicks.
  20. While this is true its the canal community who controlls what happens on the canals much like the public controlls what happens in our country. if you give too much attention to minor problems the problem will grow, it could be news propaganda, or Bob down the towpath, sometimes got to nip gossip in the bud before it becomes reality and grows into a bigger problem. Have to accept imperfections to keep them at bay as it were. The war wouldn't be as bad in Ukraine if millions of people weren't gossiping about what negative journalsm they watched on the news yesturday giving it energy to thrive.
