Thats probably an extreme way of doing it, but it may be worth the new charity handing out grapiling hooks to scrap men, could save a lot off cash from the canal clearing budget.

You would have thought with the price of scrap metal and all the vans running around nicking,sorry, collecting it,they would be interested in clearing the canal. Lets face it,theirs more scrap in 100m of any city canal than can be found on a housing estate.

If you get late,you can always catch a bus back. 15 from Ilson to Sawley or new Sky link from Nottm goes past Sawley marina [check Trentbarton website for times] Oh and be nice to the driver. -
Was told that 'you wont get into Stratford on a August bank holiday' several times before we arived and found loads of space. Just go for it, if you get stuck in a Q,you will only end up talking to other boaters, one of the best places to make frends.

There is one in Shardlow, opesite the enterance to Shardlow marina next to what look like old moltings and now a industrial est. A few years ago you could see the remains of a wooden boat, but now you can only see a weed patch, the renains may still be in there.

Thank both of you,will have a look at cossington lock. Have been looking at the map and it looks like we will have to go past cossington and bridge 19 to tern round,so will be able to have a look first,but sounds good to me. Looking forward to this do, its the first cival partnership I've been to.

Going to Rothley for a weding,and will be taking the boat (its first trip).Have stayed at the Hope and Anchor pub, bridge 19,before but was looking for a overnight mooring nearer Rothley. Its been a long time since we have been that way, and cant remember any mooring around there.
