  1. There is a good launderette in Llangollen, walk up to the top of the main high street & turn left, it's a few hundred yards along the road.
  2. On an iPad ? eta just refreshed with "curly arrow " ( I'm not very techy!) & that sorted it

  4. This was us yesterday, was sorted quickly & efficiently by the contractors this morning, a fair bit is now on our & other nearby boaters roofs in nice manageable rounds. Luckily no damage to boat just 2 scared cats & dog edited to add I've no idea why the pic is upside down !
  5. From C&RT via Twitter in response to queries about vm's becoming 14 days in winter...... " For all of those wanting clarification on Winter Moorings and Visitor Moorings this Winter I have just had a response that will hopefully answer any queries I have had this week. #fingerscrossed - Most Visitor Moorings will relax to 14 days, with some exceptions where visitor moorings are well used by lots of boats throughout the year. If the short-stay times are in place all year the signage will say so. I hope this answers all of your queries. " Be interesting to see if any signage is updated accordingly ........

  12. We once were infested with them, they were lurking in the tiniest cracks & crevices. As soon as it got dark out they came, we spent night after night sat waiting for them to appear then vacuuming them up, there were hundreds of the little blighters Gave me nightmares, I now keep a good lookout for them & any spotted are soon dispensed with. urgh.......

  14. We did our Windows with it for a few years but got fed up with it as the cat liked to scratch the ones he could reach & I spent a lot of time the next spring getting the double sided tape off with sticky stuff remover so last year we got some acrylic /perspex sheets cut to size ( GBM in Rugeley) & some magnetic secondary glazing strip ( ebay) It took about as long to fit the strip to the perspex & window frames as it had done previously to do the film & it's great, have just put them back up as nights are getting chilly, only done the bedroom & bathroom as we like to keep the windows open in saloon area, which is warm enough anyway when the stove is lit
  15. My grannie used to alternately layer sliced courgettes, breadcrumbs, sliced tomatoes & knobs of butter in a casserole dish, plenty of seasoning & bake slowly till breadcrumbs browned. Works as a side dish or lovely on it's own
  16. Soona & Sid...... just trying this to see if it really is easier to upload pics Edited to add, it is!
  17. We have just had the same problem, did it a couple of times over a few days then finally gave up all together on Sunday, we checked & double checked connections & eventually rang RCR as we were baffled, took Sam, engineer from RCR 1 minute to sort it, a sheathed connection we had n't spotted, it had just vibrated loose, felt daft that we had missed it but we will be wiser next time;) Edited to add - it was the multi connector in the engine bay.
  18. Thank you, just what I wanted & it seems that Jamie Redfern is the EO for this area, will ring him tomorrow. Thanks John, really don't want to have to go into a marina, will see how things pan out. Have you used them ? I found 2 health centres on Google & as we cc' s know only too well some surgeries are great & happy to accommodate us whilst others not so much........
  19. That was my 1st thought & if nothing else is suggested I'll ring them Monday.
  20. As the title really, does anyone have a handy contact number, we may have to overstay for medical reasons, not certain yet as need to see a local GP first (& if anyone can recommend a Nantwich GP that would also be useful) Just trying to get my ducks in a row........
  21. When we set off cc'ing I joined the same GP surgery as my daughter as it's easy to combine visits with collecting my 2 monthly prescription or any tests required. If we were not able to visit I find a nearby post office that (still!) does post Restante & daughter will send it on. But we have recently found a better system, I have registered with https://m.pharmacy2u.co.uk, they contact me a week before repeat script is due & check which items I require, within a week the medication, note, medication not just the script is delivered to my daughters address, she could, if necessary send them on to me as before though I usually manage a visit & collect, works for us.
  22. We had a similar situation with similar boat (2007 Liverpool with Isuzu 42) in June, went into Portland Basin dry dock, Ashton. They had a bit of a job to get it off, even with a big hammer So can't imagine getting one off whilst still in the water. Ours had 2 bent blades & was sent to Crowthers, came back like new though we've been told it probably wouldn't take another refurb. The spline was drilled & a split pin added when it was put back on as another boat a few days previously had the prop fall off at the lift bridge, don't know if anyone's recovered it yet ! We claimed on our insurance, craftinsure, who were very efficient & paid up quickly, can also highly recommend Portland Basin dry dock, brilliant service.
