  3. I've researched into the oil filter you need, having got the same engine.. Standard figment is volks B63331 as you say..available via numerous places for approx £70 Other manufacturers are .. Baldwin filters P1575.. Again generally available via Internet £70 Grainger 2ZKV1... Not been able to find a supplier Hifi filters (French plant filter manufacturers). Available at nearby plant supplies £58 I've found a place can supply 5x baldwins at £55 each or a plant supplies in America that will supply 10 at approx £25 each once delivered... I haven't found a motor factors that have even heard of these filters never mind stock them :-) If you fancy taking 2 off my hands at cost price Id be happy to buy the 5 at £55 each! My fuel filter is a TJ filters FK9366 available at most motor factors off the shelf..approx £2 HTH

  7. Ahh..that old excuse for shoddy spelling... Amazing being dyslexic you can get 98% of your posts right, and can even manage to spell 'dyslexic'.. Amazing achievement! Uneducated troll more like !!
  8. my wide-beam was exactly same shape as the one in your ad, was very good overall.. definitely recommended! :-)
  9. More a widebeam builder than narrowboat, from over Yarkshire way...now gone/defunct! I owned / lived on a 55ft V&G widebeam and was very happy overall with it! :-)
  10. Whilst certain members come on here with the view ' my way or no way' , 'I'm right , everyone else is wrong' and other such sanctimonious claptrap... Tough world ain't it?
  11. Why change a habit of a lifetime? :-)Just stick to your flawed, generalistic & 'whatever suits my opinion' views !
  12. Devil finds work for idle hands, can't you just tell its school hols time!
  13. Have you recently discovered mariguana?
  14. SPILL THE BEANS THEN....let's hear / ridicule your suggestions?
  15. Yes I sympathise, I want to live in LAS Vegas in a £10m pad...life's tough ain't it,
  16. And what percentage of this 'saturation point' of live-aboards have you spoken to to state categorically that no one chooses to live on a boat as you previously suggest?
  17. And according to your earlier generalisation... NONE of them choose to do it?
  18. ..Very few people choose to live on a boat, they would rather take a council flat or even a hostel. Other than those I know who actually are live aboards, I've not met one person yet who would do it To counter your generalisation above, 'you have not met 1person yet' I have 4 seperate people moored in front / behind me who have sold up bricks n mortar to live on a boat, also know of two more folks in the process of selling up and becoming full time live aboard! So, to use your logic of 'in your experience'... In my experience..Loads of people are itching to move aboard!! Care to post some actual proof that few people 'choose' to live on a boat apart from just your opinion?
  19. what an absolute load of horseshit!

  21. when I depress the plunger I get diesel flowing out into the pot but it definately sounds like a blockage, it lights and roars fantastically for approx to mins....think I may have run it low on diesel so Ill give all the filters/regulator a clean, I suppose a bit of muck in there could limit the flow enought to cause it? thanks for your thorough help / explanation :-)
  22. Well after 3 months of fantastic non stop service my bubble bb2 stove is acting up again:-( Woke up Thursday to a freezing boat , fire virtually out ,central heating cold! Thoroughly cleaned the burning pot twice ,problem seems to be ... I light it as normal with a firelighter, diesel vapourises into a fantastic blue flame then dies down after 10/15 mins to a smokey cold yellow flame only in about a quarter of the pot, zero heat available to heat water ! Cleaned the pot no carbon around diesel inlet, tank refilled to ensure enough fuel .. What else could cause this sudden change in performance? It's now next to useless ! :-( Any ideas? Thanks
  23. I run a Ruston 2yda in my 57 foot trad...its a great bit of kit and attracts regular 'fantastic sounding engine' comments :-)
