  1. The hasn't said who it bought it off. Until we know that, everything said in here is irrelevant. The contact is between the purchaser and the seller. If Aintree Boats weren't the seller than they have no legal obligation. Quote: "This is based on my assumption that you bought it from the boat builder. If not you will struggle to prove the previous owner did not adjust the engine height etc......... " If they didn't buy it from the boat builder, then it doesn't matter whether the previous owner diddled about with it.
  2. Funny that, I've seen them talk about a boating season loads of times. Here's an example (under the bit about reserviors): https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/enjoy-the-waterways/boating/boating-blogs-and-features/the-boaters-update/boaters-update-11-jan-2019
  3. When you say 'a couple of years ago', does that mean this doesn't apply any more? I was going to have a word with the fishermen but chickened out, but what's the point of having designated visitor moorings with rings when the entire stretch is being fished on?
  4. Is this true? It would explain why there was a fishing match using up all the visitor moorings above and below Wolverley Lock on Sunday.

  6. The weird thing is when the resurrector posts on a thread 7.5 years ago raving about a Lockmaster Windlass, then hardly ever posts again. Then 7.5 years later posts again on the same thread raving about a Go Windlass. Is there such a thing as having a windlass fetish?

  8. Except, increasingly they are asking for w3w. Put it on your phone, what's the worst that can happen?

  11. Not really. If you've injured yourself in a forest, and call an ambulance, w3w will pinpoint your exact location. Even if you were able to identify the nearest postcode to your location, it would direct the ambulance to somewhere a long way from you.

  13. I’d turn right at Horseley Fields and moor in central Wolverhampton overnight.
  14. The nuisance must come from a specific source. If the source moves, a new nuisance is created. You may wish it were otherwise but that's how it is. The specific distance the source would have to move would be up to the man on the clapham omnibus.

  20. Maybe, are the two locations within different addresses?
  21. I would advise against doing this. Councils are cash strapped enough and this will just waste more money. The reason is that they have zero chance of getting a successful prosecution out of it. The problem lies in the way a nuisance notice works. In simple terms, once a boat moves on 50 yards, a new nuisance is created, at the new location, so the initial nuisance has been abated, in compliance with the notice. But did they become virtuoso guitar players?
