oh lordy I did the soar at totally the wrong time of year myself about 6 years ago (blimey where did that time go 🙃🤔) in and out of flood all the way up and had to put planks down side of boat at syston to be sure.....yoghurt pot was bobbing around the picnic tables outside the pub!! stunning beautiful river but Sheesh you can literally watch the level rising!!! I find that although the Trent is much bigger, she feels easier.....but I started in the Trent so maybe that's why 😁😁 but yeah rivers are proper wild!!.....mind you all this rain is making any high cuttings a bit precarious on canals too....... I love the view as you get to where the soar meets the Trent and it's just this huge mass of beautiful river 🤩.... not like Ribble wide clearly 😳😂 I'm guessing/hoping contractors will know what to do about the length of the easenhall cutting.......🤔.....open up the old Oxford route???

Hiya, not sure if this will help but I have ex black prince with exactly same auto fill engine header tank when i moved aboard 9 years ago .... the first thing I had done was to remove the autofill connection from the engine header tank as I didn't like the idea of anti freeze anywhere near my domestic water pipes... so I put antifreeze/water in my engine header tank if and when needed and I top up the eberspacher header tank (same as yours) separately as and when needed.... not sure that helps at all 🤔 but just have a feeling separating the auto fill may help?? hope you get it sussed 🙏

must admit when I came through late December it looked and felt very precarious (having cruised through for many years) due to heavy rain and that bit with all the stones behind wire mesh was clearly not able to hold back the bank as it was really bulging!! also just after bridge 34 there was a small landslip with a tree down and several large trees at the top of the 18m cutting had bare roots showing 😳... I was glad to get through! glad everyone is ok and like someone said above not sure how "safe" any of it is with this "rain" We're getting.....🤔

Good idea ?? I think that there is a desire to ensure the "human being" (although the "being" part is missing from a lot!!)...anyhow....I think there is encouraged continued reproduction of humans because "they" think humans ought to rule thus planet and humans are absolutely godlike, above all others and just so awesome it's hard to describe.....(this is not my view!!) The human ego is currently running rife, both individually and in groups.....and the ego does not care for nurture or compassion...it's just an insatiable "I want" and corporations exploit the egos of the masses by selling materialistic lies......(blimey I need a lie down after that ?) Trump is a prime example of ego gone mad.!!.... So I don't think they would ever pay anyone to decline reproduction......maybe we are all living in a similar "cage" as battery hens, or crated pigs......and yet blindly follow.....?? Do people still get that child allowance no matter how much income they have?? That always seemed weird......the whole thing is weird.....and very controlling and who's laws are they anyhow......????⭐

And of course they'll all go down to the canal to alleviate their boredom.... hopefully to be inspired by nature and uplifted....rather than to "vent" frustrations..... Oh and thanks for such an in depth reply....it has concerned me for some time now that the big corporations and "so called" people in power seemingly care for nothing but man made money and control of the masses....it's actually one of the saddest things about the human ego.......the sheer lack of care to share with nature..... I bet certain ego controlled people genuinely want control over all living creatures and even the weather instead of living in harmony with the natural world, or at least trying to. I don't care if we wipe ourselves out, that's our fault... But to take other creatures with us and destroy is such a human "fault" and I wish more would awaken to that.....it's so much more complex than just the housing.... and like you say...it's knee jerk reaction with no forward thinking, no care for other equally important factors and like you say probably very much encouraged by house builders........ Ohhh lordy I know!! My first time down to Hemel area and I couldn't believe the amount of "fat" boats, near enough every other boat and some vessels looked like they took a wrong turn at Portsmouth ???... I know it's each to their own....but.... So glad to be back to narrowboat country!!!

Yes and I've only been FS this year so nothing to compare with must admit !....but I did moor Infront of the new houses and I'm sure it's a beautiful setting fir them but I personally don't like it at all.....I saw the same up towards Fradley junction last year, big housing estate being built canal side and also near Hillmorton and near ? Braunston tunnel?.... ?? Me no likey....

I'm pleased to say I'm no where near MK, though there are some beautiful places at intervals all the way to Hemel Hempstead.....I'm actually closer to Fenny!! So I thank you kindly for suggesting I move out of a city boundary but I never have and never plan to be in any city boundary.....each to their own but I'm not sure why you assume I would be in Milton Keynes.... although the actual canal has beautiful parks all along it down there and the 48hr visitor mooring right next to Great Linford park is fab if you love medieval history etc

It might just be me, but I never had a problem mooring at fenny and it breaks my heart that more houses are going up impinging in our privacy from bricks and mortar.....I came out here to get away from all that nit have it shoved right in my face grrrrr.....also hate the fact they've laid tarmac.....it's wild and natural out here and that's how it should be.....it's not a city centre or the M1.....maybe it's just me but it saddens my heart ..... There's been a spate of boat robberies over the last week or so.... completely emptying boats and trashing some personal effects.....on the grand union I just want a peaceful life surrounded by the natural world.....

Yeah I wasn't sure if it would clean it, the bathroom ceiling looks a bit like 20 rollies a day (maybe not that bad ?) so that'll be the test.....but honestly thus sponge thing has made my ceiling white again, after trying every other product or trick.....so I think it's worth a go as not expensive and one does massive area, just need water, no residue or rinse....it's weird!! Probably kryptonite ??....and I don't work fir em honest ?? My ceiling's flat yes ? so maybe give it a go on a patch and see? Is yours wood then? Could repaint maybe? If the mood takes you.....or just don't look at the ceiling easiest.....I still gotta find "things" to fill 6 if i take em down.........I'll await inspiration ? pmsl
