  1. Yep. The drill bit just snags up the same as the screws.
  2. Looks like the same batteries with different stickers to me. Only difference is that one is claiming to be 105ah and the other one 100ah. Everything else is the same.
  3. That quilted foil stuff is almost impossible to screw through. The quilting wraps itself around the screw and forms a solid ball which prevents the board going back properly. I think the only way would be to use nails, whatever they are!

  5. I've used two-part spray foam kits in houses on very uneven surfaces. On the nice flat surfaces of my new shell I decided to use Celotex and I think the result is better. If you're only doing a section at a time you might need to use smaller kits which work out more expensive. I'm not sure how long the resin last in the hoses and gun once they've been attached to the bottles. If you use half a kit then try to use it again a few weeks later it might not work; but you get plenty of nozzles so it might be worth a try. In my experience, the coverage quoted is difficult (not impossible) to achieve in real life so factor that into your pricing. Doing some quick (hopefully correct) calculations, 50mm Celotex works out about £150/m³ and larger spray foam kits over £400/m³ , using the manufacturer's figures. You need to add the cost of aerosol spray foam to the Celotex but that's quite a difference.

  8. At least they're building the houses after the tunnel was dug. There's an old house just down the way from me that was tunneled under when the GWR was built. The tunnel is alarmingly close to it. http://www.bristolbathrailwaypath.org.uk/map7.shtml https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1384669

  21. Those spring toggles are intended for hollow walls. I find they work very well in lath and plaster walls where nothing else is suitable. Also good in plasterboard for heavy loads. I think they would be fine for your application if the plywood is at least 9mm; 6mm ply would probably sag when the arm of the mount was extended. Tis true what Cuthound says, the toggle will fall off if the screw is removed but they're cheap to replace anyway.

  23. I'm not sure how well the typo defence would stand up in court. This is a nearly £100k transaction. Surely the vendor can be expected to thoroughly check the contract. If they made a mistake, why should the purchaser pay for it? How far could it be taken? If I pay for a 1.9 ltr car, could the dealer deliver a 1.6 ltr and claim it was an honest mistake? The problem 'buyer beware' is that there was probably a sizable deposit paid and the buyer may have feared losing this entirely and be back to square one in terms of searching for a boat. I had some issues with being charged extra for things I believed to be included when my shell was being built (different company). I had already paid a large deposit and the first stage payment so felt I couldn't walk away. In the end they forget to charge me for a couple extras I had agreed to so it wasn't so bad. They tried to say near the end of the build that primer and blacking wasn't included. I kicked up a fuss at that and we settled on it being shot-blasted and two-packed for £700 which I thought was ok.
  24. I bought six 270w used panels for £45 each from a guy near Swindon who refitted solar farms. He advertised on Gumtree. He was also selling brand new 330w panels for around £80. I would have preferred those but he would only sell them as full pallets of 27. I think Peterboat bought some brand new 300w panels for £90 each recently, so there are bargains to be had if you can find them.
