  1. have emailed caldwells for quotes and waiting for one of channel glaze and two others
  2. thanks for the input, we have issues with some of the current windows leaking, glass not actually fitting windows so cannot close properly etc so rather than spend time and money on repair, feel best to update given they are 13 years old now and were probally the budget ones installed in the first place. Do not want the plastic stuff you need to use a hair dryer on - pain in the butt that stuff, and not sure how well the secondry double glazing would work if just get replacement windows from narrow boat windows who originally made the ones we have . - but looking into that - also may be cheaper option too - but want to to get the best product I can afford at mo.
  3. ooking into new windows,(double glazed with thermal break) any recommendations for companies to supply, or supply and fit. got 12 of them - I am already in contact with narrowboat windows - formaly worcester who made current ones, Channal Glaze and Wesley windows - and would welcome feed back on these too
  4. interesting, Having blown the 20gb allowance on the mifi I have found the only way I can get a highter monthly data allowance is to do it via tethering to a phone instead. As the signal on the cut at times needs an aerial to boost it on the mifi, so I am looking for a phone with an aerial socket - can anyone recommend one. Also looking at giff gaff and three for the contract as they give reasonable coverage for most of the areas we will be in.
  5. market harborough recycling centre but you will need transport from canal to it - http://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/environment-and-planning/waste-and-recycling/find-a-recycling-and-household-waste-site/market-harborough-recycling-and-household-waste-site
  6. Having been liveaboard for 5 weeks, we are more than ready to change the mattress that came with the boat and alter the way round we sleep, we have a cross bed (not sure it right term). Current set up is causing issues due to himaboard being over 6foot and sleeping across only gives 5 foot 8 inches. and the join in current mattress falls unde my knees, annoying the hell out me at night. Thankfully I was sitting down when I saw the prices of twin mattresses to fit, ( himaboard likes soft and I prefer something firmer) (behave!!!!!!) Any recommendations welcomed, and naturally those who have show rooms or are coming to a canal event in the midlands would be great as really need to try them Many thanks in advance Liz
