What they did that night was irresponsible. They opened front gate and left it unattended which could have flung closed at any moment but then came rushing back saying how dangerous it is... well they should have monitored it then.
They nearly sank a mans boat that was in the pound below.
They drained the pound while an old couple were aboard their boat having dinner. They came out to ask what was going on to be told they are draining the pound with a smile on his face and just continued while the boats list got worse. A cyclist saved the day. Very irresponsible and dangerous behaviour from CRT.
No widebeam experience but i've been through places with floating walkways where you need to ring CRT to get them to move them etc. Sounds like a pain to me.
I had a horrible time on my first tunnel when I was a new boater. Didn't even have a light and couldn't see the end of the tunnel. All I saw was sparks from the hand rails. All I can say is make sure you have a light and a backup light
I've noticed one of the copper pipes going to the top of the engine where the oil caps are is blowing air... I assume this might be the cause of the bad combustion and heavy white smoke. Anyway I am going to have a mess tomorrow and hopefully get down to the problem.
I've recently bought a new boat which has a reconditioned kelvin k4 engine. Now I've been cruising along ok but i've noticed lots of white smoke and even more recently it seems to cut out when in gear and give out lots of black smoke. The engine seems to run fine not in gear and i've checked the prop is clear. The oil level is slightly over the full mark on the dipstick. I noticed a jabsco pump that had a little twisty valve on the top of it that had been leaking some oil?
I've got lots to learn...
