  1. Rlwp its in its early concept idea and like all good inventions development will come up with the answer...lol
  2. Yep a semi wide beam sounds good to me.....just think ....all those on hear who like wbs and not narrow boats would be happy and those who like narrowboats would like them too...so no falling out over ugly fat boats or living in a tube etc...unity on the water. I reckon Peterboat will be getting his sketch pad out later and designing such a craft he likes a challenge.
  3. Hey now that's what boat builders should do...build narrow boats with pull out sides...so narrow to get through locks on whole system and wide enough with sides pulled out to be able to have a full king size bed and be able to walk all the way around it. 4. fair point tim...as someone who will be living and cc a wb in the not too distant future i feel sure that had the uk canals been build bigger with large locks throughout then there would be fewer narrowboats on the water with people opting for a wb style craft which gives so much more living space. that said hey i actually like narrowboats but just like space more.
  5. hi mike great videos of a good looking wb..thanks for sharing.
  6. hi alan..any clues of the builder who is on my list? as he may be going to the very bottom from what your saying..thanks
  7. i was selling left over stock from my previous business on eBay and in a 2 year period had over 2300 positive feed backs not a single negative or poor and not one single issue with any buyers..i was selling genuine ford parts and went to great lengths to ensure the buyer was getting the correct bit for his car hence no issues..i dispatched the same day as the buyer paid. then one day 2 years ago i got a message from eBay saying my performance was below standard so i emailed to say look at my feed back and the fact i have not had a single issue and suggested they had emailed me in error..i never got a reply..then 2 moths later they sent the same email so again i emailed back pointing out my 100% feedback and not a single issue...again no reply from eBay..then one day i came to list some bits to find i could not get into my account..try contacting them its a bloody nightmare either they don't reply to emails or you struggle to get to talk to a real human being...anyway after some 3 weeks i finally got to speak to a guy who said " your performance does not comply with our rules and we have issued a lifetime ban from selling on eBay" when pushed as to why he would not give any detail only i have not met their standard. So how crazy is that??? I'm still buying off eBay for my current business and am still 100% positive feed back and not one single issue so why a lifetime ban??? god only knows.

  9. and as its not a wide beam i will not be making a bid lol
  10. From my original post it's becoming very clear there is two camps of thought in reply to my post. ...those who like things to be kept simple and prefer time tested reliable well used technology and the other camp who are grasping new technology with both hands and who are looking to embark on a new adventure of boating with this.if history has taught us one thing is new technology is often slow taking off comes with a huge price tag and by virtue of being in its infancy can be full of issues.i think it must have been the same when they unveiled the first steam engines but as with all new technology it gets better with development and the end products get cheaper and better given time.
  11. So not everyone feels hybrid is not the way to go? I liked the crick boad and was told in passing it had a beta 43 engine but it was only looking at their brochure when we got home I saw mention of the specifications I gave at the start of this post...they did however clearly state they were happy to install what ever engine we wanted and at no time were they trying to sell us any of the fore mentioned specification.....there's awhile yet before we choose a builder so plenty of time to chew things over all be it we are going to talk to Tyler Wilson in some detail as to what we are aiming to do with our boat and we will wait and see what they suggest.
  12. Oh dear sorry to hear this...yes it's a warning everyone new or old boaters should heed as your a lucky guy and things could have ended so much worse....get well soon..best wishes to both you and your wife who I'm sure will be keeping a close eye on you in the future.
  13. well said goodgurl then that makes me just 18...yipeeeeeeee
  14. lol never thought of it that way..nice one.
  15. I'm hearing you guys loud and clear and as you say keeping it simple is by far the best option.
  16. Hey just took a look at my profile details and noticed at the bottom it says Gender (old ) male....how very dare you?
  17. Hi Tyler Wilson boats from what I have been told handle very well so maybe a skipper issue? I researched Brigatine reviews and am struggling to find anything bad being said about it,however like I have mentioned to peterboat I prefer the burscough boats fit out so might see if this would be achievable in Brigatine as to me she is more pleasing to the eye than a standard wb.
  18. Must confess Ian we are tempted if we can get the interior like the Burscough wb at crick then it would be what we want and if that's moving to the darkside then it's the way to go. 19. Hi Peter yes I remember you suggested it hence my asking if anyone here had one...so Johnny builds it as a sail way? Engine in and tanks? Then where is Steve based and how do we get hull to him? We do like the layout and quality finish of the Burscough Boats wb at crick would Steve be able to replicate that on brigatine?Inc pram cover do you think.
  20. I was going to ask builder not to put any ballast in our boat and just use wine and beer under floor storage...should be fine as long as we replace a bottle and cans as fast as we drink it lol
  21. hi is there anyone on the forum who owns a Brigantine? the hull i know is built by tyler wilson so has a good design and build quality but interested in hearing the views of any owners of this craft.
  22. Lol bettie boo I was thinking same thing....it's amazing how comments on here are given yet I'm betting if they were moored up next to each other it would be a different matter.somehow I can not imagine a boater going onto anthers boat be it wb or no and saying I hate your taste mate or your boat is ugly.
  23. Thanks Mike as always your comments make good sense and have been taken into consideration.
  24. i hope peter boat not seen it because he will be in workshop tonight building his own version...lol
