  1. The Marina i intend to use has quite a few miles of lock free cruising, but as i will be alone on the boat maybe 80% of the time, how safe and doable is it to operate the locks alone if i decided to go a little further up the cut ?
  2. Thanks Chewbaka, I will be living on the boat full time anyway whether in the marina or out cruising, its just i want to use my boat and enjoy the canals as much as possible and use the Marina as a base 3 nights a week. Thanks for letting me know my cruising plan looks to be ok. I cant open the link on my xbox but i will have a look later. much appreciated....
  3. I actually did google spam once and ive never eating it since, i will spare spam eaters the details. Mtb but i like Sosidges, especially Caramalised onion ones and Cumberland Ring.
  4. This will be my first Tunnel Tune i love Bach especially Cello
  5. The towpaths should be kept to a reasonable standard for everyone to use. Where i live the residents have adopted a mile and they themselves have laid new paths and keep it litter free. Cyclists and Walkers should be welcomed to the Canals, i used them twice a day to travel 10 miles to and from work and it was great. Lawrence what about Walkers are they allowed to wear Lycra ?
  6. I dont contribute to charity boxes myself, some but not all dont make it to any charity. where i live i get a knock on the door at least 3-4 times a week.
  7. i have a steady hand I must stop before i get into deep water with forum rules Lol Night everyone
  8. Give me chance i am filming it as we speak.
  9. I have an aluminium car ramp with gritty stuff on it, all i need now is a Narrowboat to plonk it on.
  10. I am also in reciept of Benefits at the moment and live in a 1 bed Flat, i did look into how it would work. Here is what i found. Under Housing Benefits Rules 1 you can claim for Mooring Fees 2 you can claim for Boat Licence 3 You can claim for Council Tax 4 you can claim for a Boat Safety Cert I am not sure if you can claim for insurance though. If you rely on NHS Services and Support on a day to day basis then i would say get yourself into a Residential Mooring if you can. I will be claiming for council tax but none of the others, my dad is giving me a 1 year head start on the canals. Dont give up your Health Support, i wish you well.
  11. Yer easy life without any hassle Mtb, that will do me too Guess one can worry ones self into P115 pot.
  12. You just get someone else to operate your tiller Mike. tut, i will pm you an instructural video.
  13. I prefer hands free myself. lol But to answer the Thread i will be Single Handed 85% of the time.
  14. Thanks Mtb, i was going to ask what a P115 form was, but then i cottoned on to what you meant. I think i should get my boat first, then get in a car and chat to the Crt face to face. Thanks Ian that was what i wanted to hear.

  16. OMG lol I read that, norty camo boat. Hey i saw one with a giant squid on it the other day. No without typing too much Alan i would not buy a boat from Whilton, noo i was told to go and view the boats as a learning experience like you say. i would buy a boat off ABNB, they seem to have some nice stuff worth viewing.
