sorry Alan. that's just not the way it works. try the search I did. you'll return a dozen news journals worldwide ( not just the narrow world of the canal system ) and each of those carries, almost verbatim, the same story with the same words with no acknowledgement. in fact you'd be hard pushed to trace the original source. amongst them the Independent and the Guardian. but I don't see you venting spleen their way. as I say, you have a grudge against NBW so see only the evidence that's suits your agenda. which to my mind makes you just as culpable. as for those who say ' I'm not reading it because it must be crap' .... how childish (literally) can you get ?

people bleat in about narrowboatworld plagarism because it suits their agenda not because they are at all concerned about the probity of online journalism. The Internet is based on retailing and retweeting, news stories paraphrased or lifted completed. press releases reproduced verbatim. I did a search yesterday for news stories about Laila Bint Abdul Muttalib Basim. all I found was one story reproduced in journals covering most of the world. it's the way it works, get used to it.
