  1. It's not a Norton Canes. I'd go with those who think its a Jonathan Wilson.
  2. You're quite capable of doing that on your own without any help from me!
  3. Here you go... Synchronised Boating
  4. Alan's right, she was renamed during WW1. I have a photo of her quite early on in her life showing the name 'Verbena'.
  5. Malcolm Braine purchased her as Verbena along with a batch of boats from Ernest Thomas in the late 60's, she was restored by Malcolm at Norton Canes in the early 70's for Cheddleton Flint Mill and renamed Vienna, she was then restored in the late 90's by Ian Braine at Stone using Heritage Lottery Money and used at a floating classroom for the museum.
  6. I'll give you a lift from the station if you want?
  7. No, it's not that one, that boat belongs to the Bostocks and was built by Malcolm Braine.
  8. Email me through the Norton Canes website and I'll send you a price list and if you want to come down to Norton Canes I'll give you a guided tour of the yard. Regards Sarah
  9. My introduction to the canals was when aged 3 years old, I walked off the end of the wet dock at Norton Canes straight into the cut.
  10. Because it's a thing of beauty?
  11. Fair enough, sorry that I gave you that impression.
  12. I sold it, on behalf of the customer. Companies advertising boats for sale don't usually need to state that they don't own the boat.
  13. The boat you are talking about wasn't being sold by Norton Canes, it was a private sale by the owner, who at the time was a fitter at NC. It was quite a bit more than just a sailaway, the boat had been installed with a Marine Gardner 2LW, there was a back cabin, which had been scumbled and decorated, the boat had been gritblasted and coach painted, the main cabin space had been sprafoamed and all wiring looms were in place, the price also included a Heritage Range and all the lining out materials. So quite how you can publicly comment on the price of a builders boats upon a private boat sale, I'm not sure.
  14. When I bought my boat off BW one of the first things I did was change the blue poly for decent ropes, but it didn't take long for them to be stolen and also fenders. People also seem to like leaving bags of rubbish in the hold.
  15. If it's TIger M, I'm pretty sure it was fitted with a Nanni.
  16. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  17. Damn, if only I'd took the Ling round! I could have chucked you off...
