  1. Given that this 'presentation' was about to be used as evidence in court your professional opinion is a little disingenuous. We have moved from theOP position of not knowing much about the unde rlying data set to an examination of what was intended to be presented unchallenged. so perhaps the answer is 'yes CRT's reporting is fit for purpose' but that purpose is completely scurrilous.
  2. With a topic title like that anyone who really knows what is going on is going tell you diddley squit.

  6. The connector is already there, as it's a fixed recharging point I'd screw it to the wall and hardwire it with a bit of the left over cable. Don't need a diode I checked polarity. Have I spent anything yet? Ah, 4 no4 screws and a bit of chocolate block (or whatever floats your 12v). No. Not £9. what I get for the extra £5 is an ugly box I can't mount, 2m of cable I don't want a cheap switch to go wrong lots of useless tips to clutter up the place. And, the need for another 12v cigarette lighter socket and fitting. I know which solution (does) suit me. I have a few similar running odd voltage stuff. Being me, I'd also try whether it runs straight from the 12v David Mack's advice is spot on.

  8. Water points are not only rare, a cubic metre of the stuff will likely cost you 10 euros or more. The smart move on continental waters is towards making your own at the very least for washing and bathing.
  9. Presumably you've tried these bods; http://www.roperelectronics.co.uk/automatic-voltage-regulators/service-exchange.html
  10. It's quite unbelievable you would think it might be.
  11. yes, you're right. I asked you, that was easy. Thank you. It's interesting in what it doesn't say (as is the CRT website) Enforcement? (support staff?) commercial boating? I think you'll find that's called "user consultation"
  12. With a widebeam the way is for the steerer to do the off side and the crew the towpath side and don't leave a lock until the next one is ready. If there's only the two of you it's daft for the steerer to just do the boat.
  13. People like conflict. Conflict is drama. Drama is entertainment Nobody dies That's at the navel-gazing end. At the useful end extremely useful and helpful snippets of information, more rarely knowledge and even on the odd occasion wisdom. A bit more gossip is what it needs.
  14. Of curiosity; What is the size of this organisation we are talking about? Does anyone know? How many operational directors? Middle management? Admin staff? Front line workers? Departments? (Enforcement. Licensing. Marketing and PR. Moorings. Commercial boating. ) Is this written down on the web somewhere?
  15. Maybe we can all agree that a tow off by Naughty Cal would probably cause more problems than it would solve given her attitude and lack of experience and that it's best that she just carries on without interfering. Maybe the RNLI, with their RIBs who routinely rescue and tow heavier boats know something she doesn't.
  16. Suggest you look up the difference between bollard pull and weight
  17. It's much easier to pretend you can't help because your coastal rated cleats can't take any strain and then you can motor on past. ( probably waving cheerily at the same time to compound the feeling you generate in the stranded boat. ) Mind I am surprised that someone who bleats on about the Rules would so casually break the most important one.
  18. VOC is generally a given in any specs - the most important one - the two choices are ( very broadly) 22v ish for 12v systems with PWM doubled for 24v and 36-40v ish used with large arrays and MPPT controllers .
  19. It could be a dodgy connection. Have you taken voltage readings 1. Just after you reset the unit and 2. When the red ( dead battery ) light comes on. I would also, as a matter of course trace and remake every connection between controller and batteries. You should be able to get sense out of the controller with no array attached.
