I have a victron multiplus 3kw inverter/charger In reality not documented stats how much power will this unit require from my battery bank just to be switched on? I ask as I'm considering buy a piece of music gear that uses very little power but wondering if the inverter is going to draw more power than the actual music gear as its just a little electronic mains powered beat box. I hear you but all you do is use the pole and punt past I did it with no engine from Manchester through the locks too, fair enough it's not ideal but it can be done if needs must!

Just to add ( and some people may think this is mad until they try it) don't have an engine just pull the thing along, they are so light and easy it's rediculas or you could punt it! Past charging a mobile phone and iPad most people can do without electric so some solar and wind up lights will suffice and candles then just use a 15 liter camping water jerry can with tap attached for water no pumps needed! Happy days I would love to see how you've rigged up your charging setup is it something that could be done with a cheap genny and an alternator?

Here here proof of pudding. A fiberglass cruiser adapted to live on is not about making money its about not having to rent out a flat in a shit hole for example while trying a fantastic new way of life. My friend on our mooring lives in a fiberglass dawncraft, insulated with jabber board has a wood burner and is lovely and warm! Hot water can be heated on a gas stove in a kettle or on the stove and there is plenty room for a camper size shower just look at a vw t5 camper for example.
