  1. Come on be real, a Co-oP address? You seam the fan, you give him a ring, I donโ€™t need a boat mover, or a pint of milk and a dozen eggs for that matter๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  2. Heโ€™s given a Co-oP address, come on be real??๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ why donโ€™t you, you seam the fan??๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  3. Maybe you get Co-oP points per mile with each delivery??
  4. Maybe a more identifiable address also would help?
  5. Or maybe some bloke on Facebook? Maybe a decent website would have more clout when touting for business, customer feedback, National boat broker references, Boat builder references? Maybe the way to go? Makes no difference, black/white, white/black, after an argument are we?๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  6. Means absolutely nothing, I can get hold of trade plates and get insurance, do a one day RYA Helmsman course. But doesnโ€™t mean Iโ€™m a professional boat mover. No bonafide website, just social media means nothing. Anyone can move boats and stick it on Instagram, Facebook.
  7. You seam to be only on social media, have you a bonafide website stating all your services, qualifications, public liability insurance details and all the legal stuff? Or are you just someone whoโ€™s just done a RYA Helmsman course?
  8. Take this โ€œlandlord, buy to rent, Socialist/Marxist/Communist/conservative/Liberal/Labโ€ conversation to the Pub/political section.
  9. 25 years ago, completely different these days. 17 years ago, once again a long time ago. Completely different now. Very little presence if any from the Marina operator, CaRT opened an office for their volunteers, now the boaters can see where their licence money is being wasted, on the towpath and on old women doing craft days.
  10. All now under C.V.Marine or new name โ€œVictoria Quays Marinaโ€ everything open for boat users and visiting boats. The shower will now be Metered/Token operated and once installed reopened and all on CRT keys. As I keep saying they should of fitted/changed to meter on the day. Not closed them without warning with no date to install meter/reopen. Itโ€™s the Moorers that are picking up the tab for the service block with increase in moorings. Never anyone over there to charge/collect money from visiting boats once their 48hr free stay has passed, or monitor what actually happens over there. How many years ago was that?
  11. I think your size of boat, hull profile, being fitted with a small electric motor/solar and the benefits a trailabe boat would give, to cover all the inland waterways and lakes, would be a more attractive proposition to buyers then a full size Narrowboat/widebeam in this material. I can see the boat in the Thread becoming an expensive project/concept boat and thatโ€™s it, not a viable financial investment to carry on further or to put on the market.
  12. The question that the OP is failing to answer is the cost/expense, would love to know the cost of that shell, but itโ€™s not really a working shell with lots of parts missing.
  13. Nope, they donโ€™t bung out as much pollution or Nope, you will not save them the trouble of Googling? Canโ€™t believe @IanD has missed the opportunity of writing a โ€œWar & Peaceโ€ multi paragraph reply for a Post.
  14. I would put the brakes on this concept project as of now, as it could run away with regards to expense and become a big White Elephant, @shaun15124 seams to know little about Narrowboats and also their adviser from D&D seams to be somewhat not up to current boat building practices with regards to electric motors??????
  15. You seam to be contradicting your previous posts. Why would you fit a 65hp diesel? these engines are normally fitted to Steel widebeams 60โ€™x10โ€™6โ€ weighing around 30T when you said electric will work being a third of the weight and needing half the power, so why not an electric or a 30hp engine? Then you go on about a plastic boat being more environmentally, then your putting in a big Diesel engine? I donโ€™t think you know what your doing and if I was your company I would not take this any further, until someone in your R&D department started doing some serious R&D into the overall concept. As at the minute a plastic boat with a huge Diesel engine in it, is not going to sell. Simple.
  16. Hi, not being negative but all you have done is built what looks like a Narrowboat shell out of Plastic. You have not built a working, tested and usable boat that has been proved to function, handle the conditions long term that people can use safely on the inland waterways. As has been said what are you going to do about ballasting? You say there is no engine, thereโ€™s also nothing else Skeg, Rudder/Swan neck, windows/door, cabin fittings, plumbing/electrics and everything else internally and externally to constitute a finished boat????????? You have a long way to go to get a finished, signed off complying boat that meets all the safety standards and compliance that would be of interest to the public. One question. How much has that shell cost to date? not just materials, everything including wages. How much for me to buy?
  17. I gave a YouTube/Instagram boater a hand moving their boat and became good friends with them, they had 1000 plus followers with all positive comments. They were filming the journey with me out of frame, they spent hours getting the shots and longer editing the Vlog. Between filming I pointed out things and gave tips on boating/locks, chatted about canal history and the local area. The journey lasted a few days, by the last day they werenโ€™t filming so much but were enjoying it more, they were more relaxed and actually taking in the surroundings and the canal. Now they donโ€™t do YouTube anymore and very little on Instagram and admit they arenโ€™t bothered with it, as they are just enjoying the canals and having a boat. The problem with YouTube newbies as you say, is that they are more bothered about Social Media then actually enjoying the canals and the experience, which just seams to be the norm these days with every age group.
  18. Just searched โ€œGypsy Ladyโ€ on the boat finder, unfortunately non of the builders are familiar names and I doubt are still in business. Maybe it was Eastern C/vans & Bts
  19. Maybe try a Water Sports forum, Iโ€™m sure there are better absorbing materials out there to soak up liquids than sponges ๐Ÿงฝ You could also try somewhere like Halfords(Chamois cloth)
  20. If you know a little about boats and how theyโ€™re built and fitted out, then this project conjures up more questions than answers. I think it will be a long time before we see HDPE in this form on the canals.
  21. Maybe itโ€™s easier and less cost? Looking at the Video it looks like theyโ€™ve made wooden formers to heat and shape some smaller rounded corners. I donโ€™t know how easy larger HDPE panels would be to curve or the tooling involved? I imagine this is a concept project and still in the R&D stages.
  22. Maybe when they designed it on the computer a V design may of needed too much draught for their concept of a canal Narrowboat, or thought a flat baseplate would optimise more internal space then a V hull design?
  23. Iโ€™m not nitpicking but itโ€™s News and Press. I wasnโ€™t having a go, but I think as I said previously if Posts were put in more relevant sections, those sections would be viewed more and maybe posts would get more informative replies with new views. Thereโ€™s lots of posts in General and New to Boating, which could do better in the boat maintenance sections.
  24. Would rather go there then Crick, as I can see Narrowboats every day, but canโ€™t hear the sound and see a steam organ or working steam tractorโ˜น๏ธ
