  1. No idea normal running for us is 80/175, occasionally been up to 200 when on a river. ETA have you to spoken to Diperk?
  2. Ours is different to that. It never gets above the 80 mark at the top/or 175 at the bottom of the dial which is the same position as your 40 mark. So yes I assume yours has been changed Hope this helps.
  3. Or you could dip into Boothstown Marina for a night or two. Dave the guy who owns it has a particular dislike for Peel enforcement coming onto his land. And while the guy is going home to change out of his wet clothes you can use the opportunity to move.

  6. Wouldn't it be easier just to disable the boat? I'm sure there's lots of you fellas could "invent" a way. But keep it to yourselves eh?
  7. GoodGirl is a regular on the T&M. I think she pretty well knows most of the boats that moor there...............correct me if I'm wrong though Goodgirl
  8. Also, grants for students are now being withdrawn and being replaced by living cost loans. That may also need some investigating as it may not be possible to borrow the money to do that. Sorry for seeming negative but I can't help thinking that living that way at university will just make you more reclusive. Our youngest was a bit of a loner when she went to uni, didn't make friends easily, and yes she had some initial difficulties but in all honesty it was the making of her. She went to university a shy, retiring person with no confidence, she left a completely different person. I suppose what im saying is give yourself chance to grow into the person you can be. Best of luck to you xx
  9. It could also be well up north now. Someone could have dumped the plates etc by car to set a false trail. I know the tunnel keepers at Harecastle take boat names and numbers but they don't enter into the system. That happens much later. It could be the other side of Manchester now. Will still an eye open on the southern GU though
  10. And in the darker colder months you would still need to do all the stuff as well. Difficult if you get iced in. Like has been said it ain't all sunshine and roses. I reckon on campus accommodation whilst you make friends is the best way. Get someone to look after the pets for you during term time. If your plan is to buy a boat, park it up somewhere and live on it whilst you study you may soon find yourself homeless. Have a look at the Canal and River Trust website to get an idea of what would expected of you as a liveaboard boater
  11. There's also one at Weston on the T&M
  12. There is a simple solution. Buy a good flask fill with boiling water after breakfast for keeping yourself supplied with quicker cuppas.

  14. The Boars Head is the pub to aim for in future. Thats tends to be where the boater musicians head for. Some talent out there i can tell you!
  15. Thanks Debbie and Allan. Great evening with old and new friends. Take care xx
  16. Samuel Barlows? Am sure someone would keep an eye on it there if you asked.
  17. We need to be able to get one of our dogs off the front easily as he's now almost blind. We see when we get there. We need to be able to get one of our dogs off the front easily as he's now almost blind. We see when we get there.

  19. We should be there sometime tomorrow.....any room to moor on the pub side?
  20. You always get one. For us FAB is chance to catch up with friends we seldom see. We love it and the towns Clean Teams are a credit to Middlewich. The town often looks like the local tip last thing at night, by morning the town is spotless!
