  10. Perhaps it might be worth hiring a boat for a short break with them, to see how they cope?
  11. Otherwise known as the "Xhose" and was subject to a discussion on here earlier. I don't think there were many positive reports!!
  12. I only asked questions that have been asked on here many times previously to "newcomers". At least others here can be polite.
  13. Everyone has painted a rosy picture so far, but a few things to consider: Have you actually spent time on a narrow boat, especially in the middle of winter? It might not appear so rosy when you are iced up, with a full toilet tank and no water. Have you considered where you are going to moor? Or are you going to keep moving around the system? Are you working or retired? If working will continuous cruising suit your needs? Do you actually know how much running a boat will cost you? Many think that it is a cheap way of living, but it can easily be as expensive as running a flat.
  14. If you fancy a trip to Llanidloes I know a man who can, Laurie!
  15. Sorry, but it doesn't exactly give that much detail, even at it's greatest magnification.
  16. These: http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/grade-status-550-aerial-p210635?gclid=COaT29jK-LcCFSGWtAodnF4Abg are now becoming the most common caravan aerials. Some people say that the "flying saucer" are perfectly adequate in good reception areas.
  17. Other than the "problem" with the Wolverhapton 21 I don't forsee you having much trouble with that length, what ever route you take.
  18. When I worked in Brum I spent ages colouring all the canals blue in my A - Z!! At work so can't give you a reference for it, I'm afraid.
  19. Police, and tell them you wish to make the complaint under Sect 59. They'll know what you mean.
  20. "Technically illegal" is a meaninless statement. Something is either illegal or it isn't.
  21. That sounds like the calorifier in the hot tank is heated by both the engine and the central heating unit, one to each coil.
