  2. Understood, but the way the world is with communications, 3 will happily upgrade my service and still remain competitive simply to take their market share.... I hope!!!..
  3. Yes I read it.....and stand by my post, providing you inform your insurance broker/agent, pay what additional premium they may, or may not demand. They (the insurance company) can have no objections as envisaged by the OP.
  4. As I intend to use WiFi for some considerable time yet, tying into an 18month contract did not seem too onerous. So providing I don't peg out before the end of the contract period, I'm on a winner, and if, God forbid, I have to return my bedding...I still win..
  5. My 3 MiFi has an external antenna socket (Huawei E586) and on a 18 month contract I pay £15/month for 15GB... Perhaps you were looking at an old offer..
  6. All my three boats, 2 x NB and one Dutch Tjalk, have all been 24v and permanent 240AC ring mains, supplying domestic "white ware". The OP is absolutely correct in his evaluation. Sufficient good quality, deep cycle batteries, plus, in my case a 24v. 3000watt inverter makes for easy living...with replacement items (non thus far after 3 years) cheap and off the shelf.
  7. I dont see why they would. Providing their informed on the situation/scheme and given a chance to access the risk ( with uplift in premium no doubt) they should have no objections.

  9. Salthouse Dock is saltwater, thanks for the info, back on the L&L. So no more "blooming" worry!!
  10. At 62ft. You will have fun in the brook..:-)
  11. I noticed while in Salthouse dock the other week my anodes were "smoking", a white bloom in the water and the odd bubble..around all the anodes.....Very odd, I hope it has done no lasting harm!
  12. Buy diesel from him as well, cheapest in the area...
  13. My cheapo Asda fridge draws 0.3A ac for 4A DC from the inverter (24v) and is on for 8 mins 3 times per hour +/-. Is this OK, the batteries don't seem to notice the discharge much..
  14. As a single crew, I live on a little bit more than your propose budget, I expect that you will have to "dip" into the savings from time to time, especially in the winter with enhanced fuel and heating costs.
