  1. My boat is for sale, it's 60ft and comes fully fitted for living aboard including a Maxview fully automatic satellite dome system. Too many features to list here. This boat is so new to the market it's not even on the ABNB website until next week but if you contact ABNB Crick 01788822115 and quote Nb Matilda Rose they can give more details. This boat is currently moored at Cropredy marina.
  2. Yes and Yes.......... Ordering Rope Cabling 1 Rope Cabling 4 Rope Cabling 4 Length (m) 250 200 500 Code0920 0922 0923 You will need your EIN number, but there is usually loads of this just chucked in the skip in most TECs. Sorry for the misalignment, .

  4. I have no connection with E&L and have never held a policy with them but after contacting several companies they were the only company who were willing to take on my dog knowing i would be living on a narrowboat with no fixed abode. Hi Nightwatch, hope you don`t mind me asking. Are you live aboard continuous cruisers? as it seems no insurance company wants to know if you are. Probably we will have to take on any risk ourselves and set aside a sum of money each month to cover any unfortunate incidents. As landlubbers we were with Direct Line and they were excellent after our previous dog needed eye surgery after getting a thorn in his eye.
  5. Just wanted to tack this onto what is an old thread............E&L insurance (Equine and Livestock) will insure a pet if you are a live aboard boater, this their response to my inquiry.......... " Thank you for your email, I have been asked to respond to your queries sent to us by email on the 21st August. We would be happy to insure your narrow boat and pet, which would reside on the boat with you and your family. Please note however we would have to add the following notice to the cover for the boat and pet insurance policies. “ It is required that the dog be on a collar and lead and under control whenever the boat is moored” If this is acceptable to you when the insurance is required please contact us and we can make all further details to start the covers for you. Please can I also bring to your attention that if the craft is over 20 years old we would require a full out of water survey to offer cover for the narrow boat. Please contact me if I can be of further assistance" As my inquiry concerned boat and pet insurance it is not clear whether taking out boat insurance with them is a prerequisite for the pet insurance.
  6. Really excited for you, we hope it is all and more you have hoped for. We will (hopefully) be in your position in the coming months. Keep us updated. BTW, we are Moonrakers........well nearly, as we hail from Marlborough but currently in Portugal.
  7. Wow! thanks for this, I am a complete novice at boating and your expert knowledge has given me total confidence that me my wife and children and my little rescue dog will all be safe on our very first outing.........much appreciated.
  8. Hi all During September i will be visiting a friend in Easingwold north Yorkshire and wondered where the nearest canal is from York. Even better, if i could visit a marina somewhere in this area to have a butchers at a few boats.....any ideas?
  9. I also notice a lot of avatars of long standing members have pictures of themselves...........standing!
  10. Well if it`s still for sale when we return to the UK in September we would like a viewing as it looks like the sort of boat we are looking for. We also know the area well as we lived in Fyfield near Marlborough for many years before moving to Portugal.
  11. We are absolutely thrilled for you and if all goes according to plan we will be in the same position mid September. We have agreed a price on the house and a deposit has been paid into our bank, We leave sunny Portugal for the equally sunny UK via Santander on 16th September. Good luck in your search for your dream boat, keep us all informed of your progress.
  12. Read this <HERE> in a local paper..................could it/ should it extend to the whole canal network?
  13. This boat appeals to us but but we can`t understand why it hasn`t been sold. According to Rugby Boats Facebook site it`s been around since October 2012 and went on at £67,500 and now on their web page it`s still for sale at £49,950........is there something fundamentally wrong with this boat? It`s obviously a two person liveaboard with just the two single berths and the two burner gas hob seems a bit mean for a boat with such high spec but these things can be changed...yes? My only other concern is the possible expence of the Webasto as the only source of heating, but again could i not fit a solid fuel stove to augment the heating? Anyway have a look and let me know what you think. The boat in question is "Patience". >HERE> Hope the first link works, It`s to a pdf file. If not <HERE> is a link to the website.........it`s the sixth boat down.
