  1. Does that not rather depend on how the OP intends to cruise?

  7. Blimey. That's high! Highest we have ever seen ours has been about 80%.
  8. Absolutely. We have a great years cruising lined up for next year. Can't wait.
  9. She needs the engine to charge the batteries. Without the batteries she won't have very good living conditions at all. Sorting the engine is a priority!
  10. Ask at the marina if someone can have a look at your belt whilst you are having the toilet tank pumped out. Could just be that the alternator belt needs tightening up a bit or replacing. Not a big job. Unless the alternator belt is tightened up right your new starter battery and domestic batteries won't be getting a proper charge.

  12. We were on the coast, no navigation authority involved
  13. Can't you just refurbish the raw water pump so that it doesn't leak? The kit for our raw water pump is only £80 and includes new shaft, bearings and seals.
  14. We had a cracking week in Norfolk in May. Hoods off for most of it. A couple of good weeks on the Fens. I wouldn't call it a bad year so far. We have used the boat every weekend so far. I wouldn't believe all of the doom and gloom you hear on here. In reality it isn't like that at all. Just go out and enjoy boating and being on the water.
  15. When you are not blessed with acres of space to mount things and they have to be visible then I like them to look in keeping with the rest of interior.
  16. Crap weather? It's not been that bad this year!

  18. I like things that work and look nice. The two don't have to be mutually exclusive. Available here: http://www.mailspeedmarine.com/dual-watch-gas-detector.html
  19. Found the list of tugs. http://www.humber.com/Estuary_Information/Navigating_the_Estuary/Towage_and_Tugs/ Also Little Shuva on there
  20. Sure there are a pair of smaller tugs in the area called Pushit and Shuvit as well.
  21. Keeping the bilges dry also eliminates a source of condensation in the boat.
  22. Clearly they were not or you wouldn't have been put on a short licence for overstaying. Which just goes to show the importance of having clear communication in writing, be that by email or letter, rather then relying on word of mouth. It sounds like you are set to have a tricky period ahead with CRT. Do you know anyone who might be able to lend you a mooring for a short while? ETA: If you let people know what area you are in perhaps someone could suggest a mooring for you.
