  1. Yes I've re tuned via the FreeSat box and "fiddled" with the dish again and managed to get ITV at last. Yippee!
  2. Wanted to watch the Wales match tonight but can't get ITV1 although Sky News is fine. Any ideas why?
  3. Ooh! That's embarrassing. (Senior moment) I'll read it again and see what happens.
  4. Yes I already had those settings. I switched them all off and then back on again but still no joy. I took the iPad outside in case of boat = steel box syndrome. On Google maps I just get " Location could not be determined"
  5. Anyone know what I need to do make my iPad automatically show my current location? It used to do so on Google maps etc, but doesn't anymore. Looks like I've disarmed it somehow.

  7. That small!!??Sounds OK if Gardner says so. Must say the 4LW is pretty easy to hand start so there's not a lot of resistance for the battery.........whereas my old Lister JP4 (which I loved) was..........erm..........not easy to hand start.
  8. My Bosch 220A starter battery is getting old.......well it WAS 2nd hand when I bought it 14 years ago!!!? Just wondered if I need to go that big when I replace it. Anyone been OK with a180A?
  9. Thanks. My old one is a Candy (full size) and it's been great for 14 years. I'd like another so I'll check their range. Can't get the link from your message though. Errr ..............nope!?
  10. Mastervolt Whisper 6000 (engine Mitsubishi L2E)
  11. My genny has begun to start only at the second time of asking. I'm giving it 10 seconds of pre heat before pressing the remote starting button, it seems like it's going to start but stops immediately, I press the start button again and away it goes no problem.? Maybe the diesel is draining away from the pump overnight when the genny is stopped, from a tiny air leak in the fuel line????
  12. http://www.trojanbattery.com/pdf/datasheets/T105_Trojan_Data_Sheets.pdf But I won't be going that high again. And Trojan advise equalising monthly which I won't be doing either!
  13. do you mean that you would empty the "wet wipes cotton buds or other non-eaten items" that the Elsan is not the least bit worried about, into the sewage system?
  14. Yes, that's what I thought would be the best thing to do. Thanks.
  15. Hmm. I noticed that My Mastervolt 12/2000 inverter had switched itself off yesterday! No mains power for fridge/freezer. Why, why, why??? Checked the inverter manual and noticed in the technical data that "Input Switch off voltage high" is 16volts. As per Trojan manual, Equalisation is 16.2volts, which I had programmed into my Tracer solar controller. Could it be that the Tracer decided to go into Equalisation and the Inverter wasn't happy? I've reduced the Eq down to 15.0 volts for the time being, and the inverter is working again. Don't want a repeat scenario.
  16. It is the 140A model. Did you connect the ground wire to the negative terminal on the alternator.
  17. I bought one of these to go between my house and starter batteries, along with a Sterling alternator regulator, to switch over and charge the starter battery once the house batteries are full. The terminals on the relay look pretty puny though, considering the charging cable is 1AWG. Looks like I can get terminals off eBay (item number:141744538476) Cable size 50 mm stud size 6mm. Is this the right way to do it?
  18. Just got another 40Amp Tracer to match my existing one (each handling 5 X 100w panels). I see that the new manual default setting is 120 minutes for both Equalize and Boost duration, whereas the old manual had 180 minutes for flooded batteries.
  19. Great info as usual. Thanks everyone
  20. Looks like it's an EMulsifier Description Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment is a multi-functional fuel additive which uses a unique enzyme technology that allows all engines to start easily and run smoothly, even after sitting idle for months. Star Tron® eliminates and prevents fuel problems. Star Tron breaks down excess water and sludge to sub-micron size, allowing it to be safely burned away during normal engine operation. Star Tron was rated “Best Choice” in an independent review of the seven most popular diesel treatments that guard against fuel-tank corrosion. Star Tron also helps control biological growth without the use of poisons/biocides. (Practical-Sailor August 2013) Star Tron® increases fuel economy by cleaning the entire fuel delivery system, removing performance robbing gum and varnish deposits while modifying how fuel burns. This results in more complete and uniform combustion, maximum performance, increased fuel efficiency, reduced emissions and reliable operation. Star Tron eliminates carbon build-up from burners, injectors and exhaust components. Star Tron will stabilize fuel for up to two years, preventing the formation of gums and other solids that clog fuel injectors. Star Tron can help rejuvenate old and sub-spec fuel. Star Tron is safe for all engines and overdosing is not harmful. Available in four convenient concentrations for both gas and diesel. Each oz. of 931XX Super Concentrate Diesel Formula treats up to 32 gallons of fuel. Features Helps increase fuel economy 1 fl. oz. treats 32 gallons of diesel fuel Makes engines start easier, run smoother Cannot be overdosed Disperses bacteria without the use of poisons/biocides Reduces all emissions, including carcinogenic, particulate smoke – eliminates diesel soot Stabilizes diesel fuel for up to two years Lowers fuel system maintenance Eliminates carbon build-up from burners, injectors and exhaust components
  21. Am I the only person on this forum that uses Startron Enzyme Fuel Treatment?
  22. Yes but I wanted to know if they were better than the rectangular sanders which don't spin round like the discs. The rectangular sander have a tiny radius of rotation so, I imagine, leave a finer finish. Do the DAs leave a finish good enough to apply a top coat or would a primer/base coat be required?
  23. I've googled random and dual action sanders and they look the same. What's the difference?
