  1. I have looked at the troubleshooting but it hasn't been that helpful. I think I do need to get an electrician in.
  2. i don't think they are being charged - I have a battery monitor (I think) with my solar panel and that went from green to amber light earlier today to say the batteries were under voltage (so currently charging by running the engine - the engine display shows it's charging at about 14volts). That said I have had the battery charger switched off a lot over the past couple of days as I don't know what the problem is and I didn't want to risk damage being done to the batteries or the charger.
  3. I checked the GI wires - they all appeared to be correctly connected but I tightened the screws slightly for good measure. The GI is now plugged back inline, and so far the mains electricity is still working. The battery charger is still constantly lit red - I've had a look at the battery connections and they appear to be correct. Is there anything else I can look at or do I need a professional? And if so can anyone recommend someone in the Nottingham area?
  4. Thanks for all the help so far. I am struggling to unscrew the GI as there is no screw I recognise. The photo shows what I can see - any ideas?
  5. It is the red constantly lit - I have changed the fuse and it has not changed the light. Dismantling the plugs sounds a little out of my comfort zone and expertise level but I'll give it a go!
  6. Thanks for the replies so far (and sorry for the delay in clarification - I'm on night shift at the moment and sleeping was very necessary!) so with the mains, the shore trip, boat trip and boat Rcd were all on when the mains didn't work. The mains started to work again when I unplugged the in line galvanic isolator and plugged my shoreline directly into the boat's mains connector. (It looks like the one I've attached a photo of if that helps). At this point the mains supply to the boat worked again and has worked ever since. I do not know when the warning light on the battery charger first came on - I think I was fine when I initially plugged into the new marina but I could not say for sure. I only noticed it some time after I had taken out the galvanic isolator. The battery charger is a waeco perfectcharge MCA1235. It was installed 3 years ago. I think the boat power panel is about 12 years old. i hope that clears up the queries so far.
  7. Hi - I recently moved marinas, and when I first plugged into the mains at the new place everything worked fine. The next day, however, the mains had stopped working - I checked the trip switches onboard and on shore and there didn't appear to be a problem. The mains finally switched on when I removed the galvanic isolator from the circuit. However, I have since noticed the warning light on my battery charger flashing to say there has either been a short circuit, the fuse has gone or the polarity has been reversed. (I have changed the fuse and the warning light is still flashing the same warning). Any ideas what I should do next, or what the problem is?
  8. What would you recommend I descaled the toilet with?
  9. Hi all My pump out toilet has stopped working - when I press the flush button the bowl fills with water and then nothing happened (when there was an electrical whirring which I think is the macerate). Can anyone suggest what I can do to solve this and/or recommend a professional in the sawley/Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area who might be able to help? Thanks
  10. Hi - hope someone can help. My waste tank for my pump out appears to have a small leak in the top where the level indicator feeds into the tank. It looks like it is leaking a little on one screw and also on one corner of the plastic attachment. Any suggestions?
  11. The sticker on the back seems to suggest that it's from Argos, so I think it's unlikely that it's a gas fridge (though I don't know that for sure). I'll try contacting the previous owners, and look for a switch.
  12. It refers to a compressor on the diagram on the back of the fridge (I'm trying to upload pictures, but failing so far!)
  13. Hi I've been living on my boat for 5 months now but only just realised the fridge has never worked. The light turns on when you open the door, and the socket it's plugged into appears to work with other appliances, so I've concluded from that the fridge is getting electrical supply. However, it doesn't matter what I turn the dual to inside the fridge, it never gets any colder, and I can't hear the hum of a compressor either. I've had a look at the back, but don't know enough about fridges to know if anything is missing, or needs to be connected to something else. Any ideas?
  14. It was making a noise from about 5 seconds after the taps were turned on till about 10 seconds from after they were turned off. I have since turned off the water, and the electricity to the pump until I can get a replacement sorted (there was a very obvious dripping from the connection to one of the pipes when I had a look at it)
