  1. I think most of the Manchester people Im acquainted with live in the marina by Plank lane lift bridge or the one at the bottom of the Ashton flight.
  2. Whilst I’m not familiar with that area there are quite a number of gay and alternative lifestyle people living on boats as in the main….with the obvious exceptions above…in real life it’s a welcoming community. One lifestyle community group I’m a member of even has a canal subgroup. I know of several gay couples and singles living aboard around Manchester …..I’d maybe ask on the Facebook groups as well as they are a little more diverse than here. We agree on very little but on this I do. Well said.
  3. Why is it different to say a group of model train enthusiasts wanting to meet like minded people or those who identify as goths? Or indeed canal enthusiasts? We as humans tend to gravitate towards those with have things in common with.
  4. And you are now on my homophobic list. Nice of you to identify your bigotry. Funny sort of ignore list btw…. I along with my partners had a lovely day at Leicester pride yesterday..it was great to meet up with other non judgemental people who live life for themselves. Maybe you should open your mind too.
  5. I find that statement more than a little condescending if not downright hostile
  6. What else do you expect from plod? Too busy helping the stop oil lot or kneeling down somewhere….it’s why if you have any issues it’s best to sort yourself.
  7. That may be your opinion....other opinions are available......no wonder the forum is dying
  8. Quite....all my female friends are more than capable of profanity....one has made a Hells Angel blush and left a Glasgow gangster lost for words...quite impressive I thought
  9. Are you trying to polish your halo….think my point is proved
  10. And there are some posters that throughly deserve it!

  16. They would get through bridges much quicker with a little tap up the rear….after a suitable long blast on the horn clearly.

  20. So if you have a boat that you just dump on the towpath as well as house you now qualify for a payment for your boat as well as the one you had for a house......thats not exactly fair either....
  21. But we weren’t eligible before if you had a mooring that wasn’t a residential mooring…..so basically we still don’t qualify….believe me we and many others tried but was told we weren’t eligible.
  22. Seems from what I’ve heard that I’d now be better off cluttering up the towpath than doing the right thing and finding a mooring. Ridiculous!
  23. We tried the first time. It wasn’t allowed because no residential address apart from a c/o one. Yes we will be trying again if it opens up. I have a home mooring as do many others who live aboard….we also cruise as much as possible.
  24. So I’m a CCer that happens to have had a mooring for the winter…..
