  7. It's just a large thermos flask to store hot water for the kitchen and bathroom. If my future boat has one, I'd keep it and install a gas on demand boiler as well. If I'm cruising, free hot water is good. But if I'm standing still I'd rather hear the homely *poff* of my boiler than run the engine for 30-45 minutes to wash up. Unless I go old school and keep a kettle on the stove :-)
  8. I viewed it in September, while boat/cat sitting for Wanted and his sweet little family. Spent an hour rumaging around inside and out and on the neighboring boat. There's a boat for everyone and this one ticked all my boxes. Except for the pricetag. I specially liked the small portholes, like beady little eyes :-) Felt nice and safe not to have any window large enough to bash in and crawl into. Definetly not dark inside because of the 3 bulls eyes, or what those prisms things are called. One in the back cabin and two in the front lounge area. There's a side hatch where I'd put the kitchen and the darkish stretch after the engine is where I'd the bath and corridor past it. No wholes drilled for plumbing so one can still put everything where it would work best for who ever buys it in the end.

  11. There are some lovely non tropical species from North America worth looking into. Eliminating my main concern about snakes on board, steady heat.
  12. Very effective defence, opening ones bowels on an attacker eh craftycarper? It's not a liquid. It's snake poo :-) Been there, done that. And can still smell it if someone brings it up.
  13. No mystery about the flashlights. If men miss the bog in broad daylight. Imagine what they can miss in the dark.
  14. Aaw, thanks you two. oxo Had a lot of stuff to deal with summer/fall. But i have been lurking in the shadows. Still have the boat bug :-)
  15. I understand that you have had some winter over there. Here's a well tested remedy. There's no use in making just one batch the first time. Cuz you will only be making a new one in a couple of days. "Baileys. Whip 3 farm eggs till fluffy. Keep beating with the mixer as you add... Vodka (or other 40%) 1 can sweetened condensed milk, about the same of thick cream 1 tablespoon of chocolate topping 1 teaspoon of good vannilla extract (vannilla bean paste is a standout). Shake before pouring over ice..."

    Toffe Vodka

I can't be trusted near vodka or Werthers. Mixing them together is not wise.

  22. I stow away anything they might be interested in. Live on a farm and the number of flies are seldom enough to bother me. All the windows are open and when one fly flies in. Another one flies out.
