  1. a theorem is a statement that has been proven on the basis of previously established statements, such as other theorems, and previously accepted statements, such as axioms. The derivation of a theorem is often interpreted as a proof of the truth of the resulting expression, but different deductive systems can yield other interpretations, depending on the meanings of the derivation rules. The proof of a theorem is a logical argument demonstrating that the conclusions are a necessary consequence of the hypotheses, in the sense that if the hypotheses are true then the conclusions must also be true, without any further assumptions. The concept of a theorem is therefore fundamentally deductive, in contrast to the notion of a scientific theory, which is empirical
  2. I appreciate what your saying, they probably close the gates because they think they have to not because they are being selfish, stupid maybe, but surely thats off topic.andf if i was your girl friend i would have my own boat as well.lol. so when someone has left the gates open, I dont have to shut them first before entering the lock from the other side?? join mensa instead of boating
  3. mm i seem to be a lone voice, i close the gates behind me because its custom and practise, even though its 50/50 on helping or hindering,Ithink your muddle minded or selfish. so some small minority want to be different, as is your choice, but i think you will annoy the majority, but you wont care so why am i arguing with such intelligence ha.just an observation.Maybe you should put your theory forward to cart to change things, and maybe put it that its a way of doing things and called after your name, your intelligence will be recognised that way and show how foolish all the other people are trying to be fair and courteous, ha . Thats not to Kthryn, if local etiquette is different to the norm then thats fair enough, i was generalising, your point is completely valid.
  4. I can see the argument for leaving the gate open, i do get it, but a uniformed approach is fair for everyone, and shutting the gate is etiquette, not yours, you do as you wish bcos you have your theory. I can live with it, I have a nice time anyway, and the selfishness of some small minority of boaters will not bother me.Single handed is a reason for you not wanting to help other people maybe, or maybe thats the reason your single handed lol.
  5. so custom and practise is wrong 99% of boaters are wrong, your right and everyone should change to suit your theorum, yeah I see it,we are stupid your intelligent, sorry for thinking any different to you, im sure you may annoy people though, but thats just my opinion based on experience.
  6. its custom and practise to close the gates, just do it and stop thinking of excuses for being lazy, or we can all do our own thing and sod everyone else
  7. Just an opinion, but if lock gates are left open, i think the boater is selfish, and sod other people, you are doing it for your benefit, and your justifications are just an excuse for leaving work for other people, and causes annoyance to other people, but thats the way some people are, so we just put up with it.

Hi, Looking for reccomendations for boat hire going to Canbridge for Newmarket races in September, have hired b4 from Fox in middle level but would prefer somewhere nearer to cambribge, st ives way[,which is as far as we got last time] as the run down isnt very pretty from the mid levels. cheers for any suggestions
  17. What honestly,or am I missing the joke..
  18. great ,nice to watch, on the Thames was that police boat hasseling people
  19. i found on the llangollen travelling later in the afternoon, was quieter, particularly the evening, my favourite time, most boats had taken the safe option and found there mooring.I travel at a reasonable pace, so why let a speeding boat pass and harm the ecology, the little white ones fair enough but not a narrow boat.
  20. I'D book through latelink about a week or so b4 you go,usually a few boat yards advertising around that area at better prices, and you will know the score on any stoppages booking late.
  21. Or Why don't you cut your hair? Why don't you live up there? Why dodn't you do what I do, See what I feel when I care? Why don't you be like me? Why don't you stop and see? Why don't you hate who I hate, Kill who I kill to be free?
  22. he is a man, so reads right to me, particularly on a semi trad when cruising through the boring parts, like city centres, gives the female something to do while the man is getting bored with the scenery, and she gets a reasonably comfortablr seat, the dimensions of semi trad was surely made that way by a man for no other reason..or am i the only man that , that thought has occured to, be honest..

  24. Posting in capitals is not shouting, its posting in capitals, get over yourselves, your making op right, and there is bullies and sheep on here.An opinion is an opinion, seems fair enough to me. I have gained from advice on here, but if you put an opinion, you will get differing opinions, that is fair, but some opinions can be aggressively posted, and can put people off giving them, I think he has a point.
