  1. 'Our' end of the GU is all but dead, spent a night up in Hanwell for the fox beer fest and apart from a handful of SPCC boats locking up through the flight after coming off of the Thames we were alone, very quiet indeed. Bliss
  2. Fantastic news Patrick! You have an inspiring positive attitude that has no doubt assisted you. The very best of luck and I'm sure you will enjoy every second. Best Rob & Charlotte

  7. I'll happily report back within bounds of need. I have been trusted with enough info to trace and will honour that as so with the police. Richard, Ange, TDH, I'm glad you feel sort of similar, it just doesn't sit right. Soon as I'm back I'll chase. Luc, rise above man, we can be better right?
  8. Funny enough, in a past life I worked on the railway here, I was in charge of a gang of about 12 Donny Rail track workers, hard as nails and spent all of their wages in the pub every night, they, as you can imagine loved being managed by a southern softie with dreadlocks in a massive bun on my head! (Sadley gone!) Anyway, we were all living in a hotel called the Castle Mona which is now closed, we all assumed it was called that oweing to the amount of complaints they must have had.
  9. Go team! good work folks, I am a little gutted that Richard has been within an ales distance of my manor and I am stuck on the Isle of Man, next time! Keep us posted on progress Marcus, you have a lovely boat, when you get to Kingston I'll nip round for Tim's bubbly! Rob
  10. Indeed, I have just had a response from an officer who wants to come and see me to discuss a bit further, Unfortunatly I work away quite a bit and am currently sat in an office on the Isle of Man, I have offered to keep in contact via email and will pop in to a poice station when I am back. As I say, I hope I am wrong and this is a snoty kid, however these days I am less proud of being right and prefer to do whats right in my head.
  11. In this instance I'd gladly be wrong and hope they are just pissing about. I have alerted the Police Cyber crime team, no responce yet but I will update, I know they have the ability, if they have the resource or not who knows. The person who reported my Bro was in America and the check was done by Dorset Police so I am convinced its possible. Rob
  12. Will do, an thanks, I'm of the mind that it is better to check and be wrong, at best the person will get a visit from the old bill, which may well bring things to a halt. I'll take a look now..... ETA: Well, they have certainly been busy, I find it hard to believe that this could be a kid and also someone who is happy. I also doubt tht you would be the first to report it, however, and again with a bit of a professional and personal head on, I would feel a lot more at ease if it could be called in. Best Rob
  13. I thought you said it was Cannabis? I think that Delta is right, I've seen quite a bit of writing from people with mental Ill health and this isn't out of the ordinary, I wonder if a mod would kindly report this to the police so that they could at least do a welfare check, I doubt this person would do anything to others but I have more concern for them. Before my Brother eventually did die, he posted some disturbing things on a gaming forum he was a member of, another member asked the mods to call the police. They turned up at his caravan to check on him. I found this out after he died but I am grateful of the efforts made and wonder, even if this is not the case we could take the moral high ground and check this person is OK? I doubt you could tell me the details Mods but I'd be more than happy to call it in? Rob
  14. Marcus, I would defo have a chat with Richard who has posted above this one, although O haven't had any work done by him personally I know enough to know that reputation and engineering is his thang, oh and he has impeccable taste in music..
  15. The owner, Marcus has now joined here and is posting on the Engine section. Cheers
  16. Well done for joining Marcus, you'll find what you need here, catch you soon (Robin - Facebook) Photo's need to be linked via a hosting site, download the imgur app on your phone and copy and paste embeded codes.
  17. Well done Tim! It's correct and has won! The guy has asked how he can get a bottle to me, so the next job is to work out how a boater from one bit of London can get it to me me I can get it to you! Cheers!
  18. If it gets the thumbs up from the geezer then it's yours! I'll be right back...
  19. I was contemplating becoming an alcoholic but am worried that I'll be subjected to endless boating types...
  20. It has a Perkins gear box by the look of it..
  21. Interestingly, Hogarth's 'Gin lane' was commissioned by the Beer manufacturers of the time, in a less famous picture 'Beer Street' Hogarth depicts wealth and affluence where the pawn broker has gone bust where as in Gin street the Pawn broker is the only one doing well. Propaganda of the highest order. Note the artist painting the sign in Beer street, thought to be a 'selfie' the only thin, hard done by artist forced into this kind of sell out work. (Beer street on the left)
  22. You're in the lead Ray...
  23. Right, I know nothing of this except the poster in a FB group has offered a bottle of fizz if it can be ID'd, I don't even know the person posting and may not know the person who will answer, either way, I will pass on said bottle if we can come up with the goods... Go!
