  1. Considering the boat name there is great irony in this...
  2. Blah blah troll troll blah blah blah... Anyway, here's a pic of our roof
  3. Didn't know Sam, but agree, sounds like a proper character. Condolences from us.

  5. It's not too bad, a good butcher will trim the fat or you can do it yourself, a bit of fat is alright, cook it for longer and it renders off. Better or equally as nice or you prefer it? I do like cummin lamb but prefer cumin and beetroot soup

  7. Anyways, it's summer now so do what everyone else does and forget about doing anything fire related until it's too let, cold outside and the shops are shut..
  8. 7 years in and we wouldn't change it for the world. Glad you are having fun! Best Rob
  9. I don't actually agree with this protest personally but what I said was that I support protest and counter protest. It's what we, the plebs have when our political system fails to represent us. It would be hypocritical of me not to support the notion of protest having used this method regularly myself, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. The answer to a protest you don't agree with is a counter protest, which, from what I read wouldn't be hard to win. ^^^^ this is in response to Alan's post, forgot to quote
  10. I didn't know you were down here on holiday?
  11. I welcome protest and counter protest, especially if those protesting don't have permission. Means were free right?
  12. Yep, they live on the roof, am out now but the doors open and there's a beer in the fridge...
  13. Yeah, we assessed it, it was risky, blah blah... Heat adjustment is all in the way you build your coals, I put loads down one end and less T'other, and move the food about. This recipe dosen't call for slow cooking as the vinegar / lemon juice has broken down the meat.
  14. Lamb, goat or even chicken it would work 15 quid a pop in B&Q, they pack down with a carry handle as well.
  15. Like it Biz, like it. Cheers all
  16. Here, on the left, (obvs) is the last lot I did, if Charlotte would let me I would eat this every day...
  17. Maybe, I haven't done a power audit yet but to be honest we are pretty low power consumers, most of what we have is 12v anyway and a decent battery bank and inverter with panels might do it. It's the winter that as like everyone we use more.
  18. After spending lots of time in North Africa I wanted to try and replicate the delicious lamb I tasted. This is as close as I can get to replication.. This also works well under the grill: Ask your butcher for scrag end or middle neck of lamb, however much you want. You can use cheaper cuts like this because the marinade will break down the meat. Get them to cut it into cubes between 1 and 1.5 inches. In a large Tupperware box or bowl add: Lamb cubes 2 tea spoons of Harrisa paste or more if you like it hot(available in most good supermarkets or online) 3/4 tablespoon of natural yogurt A tablespoon of red wine vinegar or lemon juice (I prefer RWV) Two or three cloves of garlic (crushed) Handful of finely chopped fresh mint A splash of olive oil and a Pinch of salt am pepper. Mix well ensuring all lamb is coated (it wont look great at this stage...) Cover and let marinate in fridge for a maximum of 24 hours minimum 4 hours. Thread lamb onto metal skewers (helps with cooking evenly) and cook over coals or under grill until golden on the outside and just pink inside. Serve with either rice, cous cous or in wraps with lettuce, spring onions, toasted crushed almonds and corrianda. Enjoy Rob
  19. Morning, I'm slowly putting things into place to cut the umbilical and cruise for a bit, plan in new batteries, solar and a suitcase generator. What do people do for security? I'd rather not have to lug it inside when not in use. I have seen some chained with a motobike lock but being that we will be in London for some of the time I have seen the short work thy can be made of these.. We have a cruiser stern and I want to get a LPG converted gene to avoid petrol. I'm thinking strong box (air flow/exhaust problems?) or a cage.. Any thoughts? Cheers Rob
  20. Or indeed their home.. It's either poor reporting (really?) or the police should have known better than to speculate, maybe it was foul play, but why say so before the investigation results? To add, I hope nobody is hurt and that nobody is homeless
