Which hose is best for whale gulper 220 pump

Afternoon all,

 

I've basically now finished fitting my NB, just one small job of fitting the shower waste pump, I have a whale gulper 220,

 

I need some advice as to the correct hose to use when installing the whole assembly, I've got a 3/4 skin fitting and the connections on the pump are 3/4, so I'm going for 3/4 hose, but what type to use?

 

I've looked at some which are the clear braided type but some have said they go flat if they are required to go round corners etc?

 

Does anyone know or have a link to a suitable type of hose to use.

For the outlet hose, anything will do. Any hose will kink if you bend it too tight.

 

For the inlet hose you need one that won't collapse when sucked.

Yes, just allow a decent size radius for any bends and the hose won't kink or collapse. I just used clear braided reinforced nylon hose.

Use a hose that is smooth inside as well.

I've used black ribbed pond hose as it bends easily but won't collapse, plenty on Ebay or try a local pond specialist. One thing though it does NOT stretch width ways much, so 3/4 hose won't go on a 22mm pipe end, some of the cheaper Gulpers on Ebay have 22mm ends to suit 22mm pushfit so it's worth double checking.

Thanks guys for the replies.

 

I've been to a marine fish tank manufacturer and got the hoses, all plumbed in today and tested, seem to work really well, the hoses are green 3/4 inch and not braided but seem to be flexible enough to go round corners without crushing flat.

 

Holiday tomorrow on boat so will be testing the shower out, if I can ever get the Morco to stay lit
