Does anyone know of a 12v wireless wifi repeater that accepts an external antenna please?

Looked everywhere, and so far the best I can find one that has to connect to your computer by USB, which is totally anti-wifi! I want to use a close wifi hotspot, I have my booster antenna on the roof which works beautifully, just need the gubbins for inside. btw Its a repeater NOT a modem/router. I could run it off 240v if thats all there is, although I've only found ones with either no antenna or at best fixed antennas so far, which are virtually useless inside a giant floating steel tube.

Cheers if anyone does!

Are you going to tell us what they are?

Dunno what the OP has in mind but some of the dual antenna access points also have a repeater mode:

The manual should give details of how the repeater works, I expect a outdoor panel antenna could be plugged into one antenna socket, and it would repeat it indoors with the remaining internal antenna(s). They might need a DC converter to give the required input volts.

Also some of the mini routers can act as a repeater but don't have antenna sockets, and are probably single channel, but might be OK if you can put them in the window.

cheers, Pete.

Cheers Pete. TP Link are the ones I've seen on Ebay. Much cheaper than the marine-specific ones (now there's a surprise), and better quality by the looks of them Grabbed one for £15 and works a treat.

While we're waiting to hear back :) TP-Link also do a dedicated range extender that looks like it can also work like an access point, looks to be pretty frugal on power too:

For something a bit cheaper, but more risky, Tenda do lower priced wifi gear, or try hacking a portable/nano repeater to add external antennas.

cheers, Pete.

What's wrong with giving the info in the first place and not demanding someone grovels for it? rolleyes.gif
