September on the Leeds / Liverpool

I understand its getting a little late in the season, and that UK weather is never predictable, however will September be in anyway too late ? This is to be a 65th celebration ( i was a baby boomer ) so cant change the date, Bugger !

We live near the L & L and September is a lovely time here.

We had a fantastic hire holiday in October on the L&L, bright sunshine most days...it was our first canal boat holiday as it happens....it was 2003 if that helps with your calculations...

For four out of the last 5 years we had our boating holiday in the UK in September

 

They've been wonderful, mostly sunny days, albeit early dusk.

(the fifth of the five years we were boating in Southern France, (Canal du Midi) on October.

 

The weather and wine were even better

We've been boating in September for years, and the weather is usually great. Don't tell everyone, though, or they'll all follow suit.

Went there last october. Rained the whole time till the day we went home lol

But enjoyed every minute of it. Beautiful part of the country.

Any holidays I've had in september have always been good.

Normally better than my annual ones in the summer Grrrrrrr

Just go and enjoy it.

You won't regret the area or the weather. Regardless what it is

Our last trip on the Leeds and Liverpool was ten days or so in October last year...

 

It rained and we got hailstones going down the Wigan flight...it had been gloriously sunny in the morning, so we were both in summer clothes and it caught us totally by surprise...you know what? We didn't care! Despite reading the log and looking at the photos, all we can remember is the sunshine and the fun we had!

 

 

There's never a perfect time to go, as our weather can be so unpredictable, but September is a good bet!

You can never tell in the UK, but normally September is lovely on the canals. You will find it is going darker earlier, but other than that you should be fine.
