CAV/Delphi pre-filter bowl drain screw seal

Its a simple flat flange against flat(hopefully) ally....however ,the partial thread is fairly easy to strip in ally,sometimes strips on one side ,cocking the screw......sometimes see the base retapped to a bigger size,to overcome this.......at one time ,the drain screw had a sawcut down the side,which left much more of the thread to engage the ally.

Hi John.k. you buy the whole thing new for not a lot, change the bottom and keep the rest as spare. The plastic stoppers are better. I have a spare one if you're anywhere near Stoke on Trent.

You have definitive info that the plastic drain screws comply with the BSS? If not then not a lot of help on an inland boat related forum - even if some examiners miss the plastic ones.

Absolutely correct Tony my mistake. However, the two rubber seals top and bottom are rubber and won't last long in a fire, is that not a bit of a nonsense? I still have a new spare if John wants it
