I have found the gizmo very useful, and so far reliable. I use it to keep an eye on the temperature at my mums house. She is reluctant to turn the heating on,so when it reaches a certain temperature,I ring her up an tell her off.

There is another possibility and that is someone unplugged your shore line to use your power for a few mins -  for example to run a power tool - before plugging you back in.
