NB Willawaw
They featured an interview with Jim Marshall. He used to skipper the narrowboats at Pirate Castle in Camden and taught the Community Boat ticket. Bit of a character - the funniest thing I ever saw was Jim with Pirate Princess at Old Ford Locks with a boat full of girl guides.

rallyfan
I thought it was a well balanced piece about the Oxford Canal, but remember, it wasn't made for canal enthusiasts, just for mere mortals BTW what was that about Tooleys dock being the only dry dock left on the inland waterways
-Jack-
[quote name='rallyfan' date='Jul 2 2007, 02:05 PM' post='139740' BTW what was that about Tooleys dock being the only dry dock left on the inland waterways I think they said " the only dry dock still owned by BW" I guess the others are privately owned such as the one at Bradford on Avon? Is there a list of locations of all the dry docks on the cut? .

John Orentas
The dock at Enfield Lock is still owned by BW I think Rallyfan was correct, several of us picked up on that. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php...mp;#entry139491 Why do we have so many duplicated topics these days. NB Willawaw
These programmes are entertainment - they don't specialise in getting all the facts right. They had a nice lot of barges on those programmes !! Countryfile was a lot more enjoyable and dynamic than Waterworld, which lost my interest after a while. Did anybody see the lady with her floating bike and her camping rowboat - she looked totally knackered most of the time.
