Attached is a view of lock and mill. It may be on the Lark, but perhaps somebody with boating in that area may know?

My money would be on Mildenhall lock, the factory is I believe part extant although I haven't been there for a long time.

Other people have suggested the extant Marstons Flour Mill at Icklingham, further upstream of Mildenhall

The 1950 Ordnance shows mill and lock although the buildings on Google Earth are much changed from the 1960's images posted above. If this is the spot then a road has also been made across lock.

Looks like a match to me. You can see the roof of the house bottom right of the aerial shot through the guillotine gate in the original picture.

Definitely looks like Icklingham: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/667694

I remember the Imray system map used to show Icklingham as "isolated but navigable" for many years.
