Frouds Bridge Marina or ABC?

Featured Posts

Just been reading this topic and wonder whether the steel tanks in narrow boats suffer like many older cars ( my experience with elderly classics) in that especially over winter condensation on the inner walls of steel tanks results in internal rusting, The motion of the car and probably a narrowboat as well results in the rust falling to the bottom of the tank and indeed getting stirred up. Looks black and slightly gritty in a car (and my digger fuel tank) and obviously cause blockages. I was advised years ago to always leave a fuel tank full certainly if laid up over winter.

Yes, it's usually advised that you leave your fuel tank as full as possible specifically to avoid condensation. Not just because of rust but in order to avoid the dreaded fuel bug.
