PLA (Port of London Authority) Tidal App

Just seen that the PLA have launched a free App for tide times on the tidal Thames which I thought would be very useful for those who use the tidal Thames - it gives predicted high and low tide times and estimated 'surge' and you can base your timings on a number of well known locations. Nothing to do with the PLA but I think it is a useful App (assume it is available for other operating systems).

Unfortunately, last we looked they had removed the very handy one-page PDFs of upcoming tide times for particular locations. Now you have to go through the app or the fancy web based map widget, neither of which are much help for just printing a reference to stick on the notice board.

There is this website available (which I think is more specific about the tide times being in GMT/BST) http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/calendar/year/3398.html

This was launched at the PLA open meeting earlier this week. There was a question about adding flow data which would be more useful to some than tidal heights. The PLA will think about that - it's not technically straightforward.

My Android phone is so old that the app won't work. I may finally need to upgrade to a new phone...

You can get PDF output by clicking on the PDF button on the new tides website, eg this file.tides_table.pdf
